Ali Sonoma Is Single (!!!)

Well isn't this a good morning! In an interview with Jarry Park, former Octagon Girl Ali Sonoma dropped the following bombshell regarding her maybe-fiancee Diego Sanchez:

AH: Are you and Diego still together?
AS: No, we decided to call it quits based on our careers. I will be away for months…we are still best friends, though. We talk everyday. I do and always will love him. He is on a different level of any guy I have ever met.

Congrats, gents! Your chances of dating Ali just went from "snowball's chance in hell" to "snowball's chance in Phoenix"! Sonoma also spoke about the UFC's chilly reaction to her relationship with Sanchez:

I never got any “rules” related to dating. UFC did not particularly favor us going out but you can’t help who you fall in love with, it just happens. Once it was official, everyone seemed to freak out — either loving it or hating it. They seemed to blame me for his last losses. I never got in the way of his training, I never even saw him during that time. If anything we supported each other.

I'm sure Ali did her best to stay out of Diego's way when he was training, but that probably didn't matter when it came time for Sanchez to actually fight. Imagine you've made it through a tough first round, and you're sitting on the stool listening to your cornermen bark orders at you, while your girlfriend is strutting around the cage wearing those ass-shorts that the UFC makes the girls wear, and fans are cat-calling her and saying some real offensive shit, and you really want to jump out of the cage and kick the crap out of one of those assholes in particular, and your trainer is like "Understand?" and you nod but you haven't really heard anything he's just said, and the bell rings and all of a sudden Josh Koscheck is punching you in the head and goddamnit did my girlfriend just wink at that guy? Very distracting!
