The Seven Nastiest Illegal Knockouts of All Time
(Perfectly legal, mind you.)
Ah, the good old days — when men were men, women were women, and ballsacks could be repeatedly pummeled inside the Octagon without Big John McCarthy doing a damn thing about it. Above, of course, is the fateful UFC 4 fight between Keith “By Any Means Necessary” Hackney, and Joe Son (who later appeared as Random Task in the first Austin Powers movie). By the late ’90s, rule changes had made mixed martial arts look somewhat civilized, and dozens of attacks/holds/gouges were deemed verboten. But regrettably, accidents still happen. And now, our favorite “accidents” ever…
7. Anderson Silva upkicks Yushin Okami
Before The Spider was the deadliest dude in the UFC, he was just a guy trying to get Yushin Okami the fuck off of him at Rumble on the Rock 8. His knockout kick was a crowd pleaser, but unfortunately he was DQ’d on a technicality — Okami’s knees were down.
6. Andrei Arlovski rabbit-punches Marcio Cruz
After back-to-back losses at the hands of Tim Sylvia, Arlovski was dying for a win, and he wasn’t above fighting dirty to get it. When the opportunity presented itself at UFC 66, the Pitbull started whaling on the back of Marcio Cruz’s head. Herb Dean gave him a warning. Arlovski kept doing it. Herb Dean warned him again. Arlovski kept doing it. Herb Dean stopped the fight and gave Andrei the win. Love that Herb Dean.
5. Roger Huerta knees John Halverson in the head
A 19-second knockout win is pretty damn impressive — even if it is total horseshit. But hey, we can look the other way for a poster boy.
4. Wes Sims stomps Frank Mir

Sims momentarily thought he was in a PRIDE ring during UFC 43 and stomped Mir out for a DQ loss. Mir would have his revenge in a rematch seven months later, knocking Sims out fair and square.
3. Quinton Jackson headbutts Ricardo Arona
To the announcers and audience at PRIDE Critical Countdown 2004, it was Rampage’s dramatic power-bomb slam that put Arona’s lights out. Arona, however, claimed it was the illegal headbutt directly after that caused the K.O. We’ll call this one unintentional, but the cuts on Jackson’s face at the 2:33 mark of the video do kinda look like they were made by teeth…
2. Mike Kyle soccer-kicks Brian Olsen
What the hell got into this guy? Mike Kyle let the warrior spirit overtake him at WEC 20, as he ignored the rules outlawing soccer-kicks and punching unconscious opponents after the fight has been stopped. Absolutely brutal. Whatever ‘roids he was on, I want a month’s supply.
1. Gilbert Yvel knocks out referee
Notoriously dirty fighter Gilbert Yvel has bitten Karimula Barkalaev and eye-gouged Don Frye, but nothing compared to his November 2004 match with Atte Backman, in which he actually punched out a referee who got in his face one too many times, then kicked him while he was down. Apparently, it’s always illegal to strike a ref (even if his knees are off the ground) and Yvel picked up his third loss by DQ. Kudos, Gilbert — you’re a credit to the sport.
Did we forget any good ones? Let us know in the comments section.

February 26th, 2008 at 10:52 am
when you watch a replay of the Huerta fight from a diff. angle.. you can see the knee was to the shoulder..
but when i saw that live.. i was sooo pissed !!
February 26th, 2008 at 11:19 am
Huerta kneed the shoulder
February 26th, 2008 at 11:20 am
In Gilbert Yvel’s defense…what the hell was that ref doing anyway? Jesus, I wanna hit the guy and I’m not even in the ring. Seems he had no control of the fight, and all those two wanted to do was get going. Although I am no Yvel advocate by any means, that ref deserved to get rocked for being a little bitch.
And I love the comment about Anderson Silva…”he was just a guy trying to get Okami the fuck off him.” hahahaha, aren’t they all? Okami = boring, and why the hell is it illegal for a downed fighter to kick another downed fighter? Whatever, Japan had it right…kick’em in the face
February 26th, 2008 at 11:32 am
what about the misaki akiyama soccer kick?
February 26th, 2008 at 12:02 pm
OH MAN!
Gilbert Yvel clockin’ that ref was priceless.
I gotta admit, the ref was askin’ fer it!
OWNED!
February 26th, 2008 at 12:14 pm
Got to love Arlovski’s punches to the back of the head! Herb Dean warns him about them and lets him continue yet before he’d stopped the fight entirely when Arlovski kicked Marico Cruz in the face. Surely you do the same thing again Herb? Or maybe you’re too aware of the fact that the fans were booing you when you last stopped the fight?
February 26th, 2008 at 1:42 pm
nice collection of videos man. I love this site. Keep it coming!
February 26th, 2008 at 1:43 pm
Huerta is smart, he kneed the shoulder it’s not illegal
February 26th, 2008 at 1:59 pm
Haha, i read “Whatever hemmoroids he was on, I want a month’s supply.”
February 26th, 2008 at 1:59 pm
Probably, the best slam ever executed… Quinton Jackson on Ricardo Arona. I really don’t think it should have made THIS list though. It is debateable that the head is what did the knockout, when you watch it slow, Ricardo head-butts Quinton just as hard as Page head-butts him. I don’t think there is even an argument that Page had no intention of head-butting Arona, it is obvious he didn’t try to. Now, if I got my ass slammed like that throwing a Triangle I’d probably make excuses too, except my excuse would be, I never trained that or saw it coming hahahahaha. He got worked like a rib on Sunday… Fknpwned!!!
February 26th, 2008 at 2:17 pm
You forgot to include Diego Sanchez over Joe Riggs. Diego catches him clean with a punch and Diesel goes to the ground. As Diesel is getting up, Diego rushes him and clearly knees him in the head even though Riggs’ knees are still on the mat. The knee to the head while Riggs was on his knees knocked him out, not the punch that was delivered while he was on his feet.
February 26th, 2008 at 2:18 pm
Mike Kyle is a complete scumbag that should be banned from MMA.
February 26th, 2008 at 2:31 pm
3:42 for a 19 second KO? and no replay. That is beyond stupid.
February 26th, 2008 at 2:33 pm
i like how Atte Backman just wanders off knowin Gilbert Yvel will be disqualified
February 26th, 2008 at 2:36 pm
Herb Dean - After re-watching the Arlovski/Cruz fight. I cant believe how horrible the ref was. How can an athletic commision let something like that happen.
Sure, Dean always looks clueless when he stops? a fight. But this one, he TELLS THEM BOTH up, time out, up , both of you up,……They argue it for a few seconds. Herb says, WELL OK how bout a warning> YES the fighters tolf the ref what was going to happen!!! THEN smash AA clips Cruz and then REPEATEDLY hits him in the back of the head(AGAIN HERB GIVING HIM ABOUT 5 WARNINGS). Oh yeah and the whole time AA is wailing on the back of the head he is holding onto the octagon fence to keep a better balance,
There was just so many things wrong there. That has to be ABSOLUTE, HANDS DOWN WORST ref’d fight in UFC history.
Cage Potato….There’s a top ten list. THE WORSE REF’D FIGHTS in MMA
February 26th, 2008 at 2:39 pm
poor joe son (garden grove yeah) he will never have kids after that but hackney is good though wish he would come back
February 26th, 2008 at 3:18 pm
Oooohhh!
I think “Fightfan” is on to something:
“THE WORSE REF’D FIGHTS in MMA” sounds like a good mash-up to me!
I know it’s recent history, but Steve Mazzagatti reffing the Mir/Lesner fight IMMEDIATELY pops to mind. Maybe number 7 or 8 on a top 10 list.
February 26th, 2008 at 3:20 pm
Seven Most “Illegal” Knockouts of all Time? Looks like the guys at cage potato are retarded because the last time i check Huerta’s knee was completely legal, it landed to the shoulder… Fuck Cage potato and all their shitty ufc predictions! They know absolutely nothing about MMA, especially UFC…
February 26th, 2008 at 3:34 pm
Hey Matt, relax, you’re not the only one with a man crush on sexy Roger. I’m sure CagePotato didn’t mean to be hard on your hot, hot spanish boyfriend.
February 26th, 2008 at 3:34 pm
Herb Dean would make it onto many of the WORST REF’d FIGHTS. He looks so freaking clueless out there. Sometimes he kinda waves his hand, somewhat to stop a fight, BUT SAYS NOTHING….WHILE other times he kind of yells stop BUT NO ONE listens
Dean and Pornstache would make up the entire list. Where is Big John when you ned him??? In his 10 year career(minus the first couple UFC’s) Big John has made less mistakes than Pornstache or Dean make in a month
February 26th, 2008 at 3:46 pm
@ crunch, Matt Tatt:
Fine, it was a knee to the shoulder…that immediately made Halverson go limp and stop fighting. Makes sense.
February 26th, 2008 at 3:49 pm
Riggs knees were off the ground when he got ko’d by sanchez. It was pretty obvious especially in the slow mo replays… it was a legal knee.
February 26th, 2008 at 3:53 pm
watch closely arlovski was clearly hitting him in the side of the head he maybe hit him in the back of the head like 2 times but the rest looked clean
February 26th, 2008 at 4:10 pm
Huerta knee was to the shoulder, go watch the footage from the actual fight.
Halverson is a fucking baby, laid their like a girl. simple.
February 26th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
yeah thats right
February 26th, 2008 at 4:14 pm
To the guys that said the ref had it coming when Yvel hit him, I hope you all get cheap shotted some time. You guys are trash, just like Yvel.
The ref was clearly trying to put them back into the same position they had been in against the ropes, and Yvel repeatedly kept that from happening because he was too much of a bitch to accept the lesser position he had gotten himself in.
February 26th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
It was actually a knee to the shoulder but you have to see it from another angle. Honestly can’t remember but it may have glanced off the shoulder and then hit his head, but he definitely hit his shoulder first.
Dean is sometimes really good and sometimes really bad, same for Mazagatti (sp?). I couldn’t see this one, it won’t load for me but it is ridiculous that this happens, and then for one glancing shot in the mir/lesnar fight they get stood up and he gets a point taken away. MMA really needs better reffing and judging and a more defined scoring system. Till then a lot is left up to the refs who have make split second decisions. Big John for sure was the best but he made his mistakes too.
Rampage obviously didn’t head butt him on purpose and anyone thinking that is retarded. He slammed him on the ground from 7-8′ up and his head bounced back up.
The guy from WEC should be banned for a couple years if not for life. Illegal kick and then continuing to hit the guy after the ref is pulling him away??? BS, and that kind of stuff needs to be dealt with hard to protect the fighters and keep away the people that want the sport banned.
February 26th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
you missed the best one ever. heath herring, with the dude who kisses him pre-fight.
February 26th, 2008 at 4:41 pm
can these videos stream any slower?
February 26th, 2008 at 4:45 pm
yea,you left out patrick smiths elbow knockout in the first or second ufc…the guy he was fighting claimed to be a ninja …thats the best ko ive ever seen
February 26th, 2008 at 4:49 pm
Didn’t Rogan confront Halverson about it while they showed the replay in slow motion immediately after the fight. It hit his shoulder. It was very clear. He didn’t go limp. He panicked and turtled up. While I have no proof, it looked like Halverson was looking to take the easy way out. Huerta agrees.
February 26th, 2008 at 4:55 pm
Huerta kneed him in the shoulder, funny how you didn’t let the video run the replay
The ref was Backman’s manager, not that it means Yvel was in the right, but there is more to the story than you let on
February 26th, 2008 at 5:32 pm
Whoever made this list must suffer from fetal alcohol syndrome. Halverson made a fool out of himself by pretending he was kneed in his head.
February 26th, 2008 at 5:35 pm
Cage Potato is a joke. Go back to being a couch potato.
February 26th, 2008 at 5:53 pm
“cage potato is a joke” “fuck cage potato and all its shitty ufc predictions” “i got sand in my vagina”
shut the fuck up
February 26th, 2008 at 6:16 pm
to fight number 3, Quinton Jackson and Ricardo Arona.
How could it be teeth that cut Jackson’s face. They wear mouth guards. You can see Ricardo’s cutman taking out his mouthpiece right after the knockout.
February 26th, 2008 at 6:25 pm
Ur a fuckin idiot
February 26th, 2008 at 6:29 pm
Yeah the kiss pre-fight. It should be on the list.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCtrnRzdrjM&feature=related
February 26th, 2008 at 6:32 pm
Kurt Pelegrino had a mouthguard in when his teeth were kicked right through his bottom lip.
February 26th, 2008 at 7:43 pm
If you really watch the replay of Diego vs Riggs, Diego hits him with perfect timing on that knee, right as soon as Riggs gets to his feet and brings his hands off the mat. A second difference and Diego would have been DQ’d or the fight would have been ruled a no contest.
February 26th, 2008 at 7:46 pm
Monty, watch Diego Sanchez vs. Joe Riggs again, Joe was clearly on his feet when he got kneed in the head, he just crouched, he was probably about to attempt a takedown when Sanchez rushed in, you could see it in the replay perfectly.
Oh yeah, and like everyone in the comments has been saying, Huerta kneed Halverson in the shoulder, I find it kind of funny that the guy who made this list didn’t show the replay but thats okay. Perhaps he is not a Huerta fan.
February 26th, 2008 at 7:47 pm
Since when was somebody knocked out by taking a hit to the shoulder?
February 26th, 2008 at 7:54 pm
Totally forgot about the Herring vs Nakao kiss KO! That one is #1 I think. I also would put Silva’s KO a bit higher, that was devastating.
February 26th, 2008 at 8:03 pm
Huerta fight was not illegal and neither was the Arlovski fight. Who made this list up? They obviously don’t know what the hell their talking about.
February 26th, 2008 at 8:05 pm
Huerta was not illegal and neither was Arlovski? Who made this list up? Pay attention to the fights before making something up.
February 26th, 2008 at 8:08 pm
I dunno why they have all these faggy rules anyway. mixed martial arts my ass, how about “a few martial arts with many restrictions”. How about no holds barred? How about 2 men enter, 1 man leaves and the other is knocked out however it had to happen.
Fight like men or do what the rest of us speculators do, sit around and talk shit. All these rules remind me of boxing. Limited and boring fights for most of the rounds because the fighters can’t do anything interesting.
February 26th, 2008 at 8:11 pm
Btw:
Whats wrong with a knee to the head anyway? I mean… It will knock him out right? Go for it.
What about hitting him in the back of the head… Oh.. well maybe he shouldn’t turn his back to someone that is fighting him now should he?
what about a soccer kick to the dome. Lol.. Looks like some dumbass left himself open for that one as well.
Fight girls fight. No hair pulling!
February 26th, 2008 at 8:16 pm
Herb Dean was horrible. Not only was Arlovski hitting him in the back of the head but he was holding onto the cage allowing him to keep his balance and continue to punch the guy.
February 26th, 2008 at 9:04 pm
What exactly are you guys trying to prove? Do you not watch these things before putting them on your website? How convenient that your clip of the Huerta fight cuts off just before the replay from another angle. Because that clearly shows that it was a 100% legal knee to the shoulder, and Huerta’s knockout was completely legit. The announcer was mistaken, and corrected himself after seeing the different angle that you cut off. What are you trying to prove?
February 26th, 2008 at 9:12 pm
This list is bullshit. Huerta kneed him in the shoulder. Rampage was cut before the slam and if he did hit him with his own head it was accidental.
February 26th, 2008 at 9:29 pm
CAGE POTATO
Like i said before, you know absolutely nothing about ufc or mma… Back to the Huerta vs Halverson. If you read anyone else’s comments or looked into the fight a little bit more you would learn that it was a legal knee to the shoulder… I follow the shit you post up here all the time, from predictions to this bullshit. And its pretty damn annoying how a poser like you gets their own website even though you have no clue what you’re talking about… Do us all a favor and just quit while you’re ahead!!! “Makes Sense”~ You’re truly a dumbass~
February 26th, 2008 at 9:41 pm
@ Matt Tatt:
You know what helps me sometimes? Masturbating.
If I concede that it was a knee to the shoulder, will you enter a treatment program?
February 26th, 2008 at 9:45 pm
Matt Tatt tells the truth.
February 26th, 2008 at 10:27 pm
@ CAGE HOMO
You dont have to concede to anything. It wont change the fact that you’re a retard. You need to get you’re facts straight before posting them online like that. Apparently jerking off to gay porn not only makes you a homo but it also makes you come across as an idiot… I highly recommend suicide the “CagePotato”
February 26th, 2008 at 10:47 pm
Wes Sims kicks Frank Mir in the face when he is down.
February 26th, 2008 at 11:04 pm
juice it is to protect the fighters, this is thier occupation. would suck for the average career of a MMA fighter to be 1-10 fights long
February 26th, 2008 at 11:30 pm
Yeah, Roger hit me not Halverson’s Head.
February 26th, 2008 at 11:43 pm
The Huerta knee was to the shoulder… you chose selective editing there at the end, as the replay clearly showed this was the intent. You should substitute this for the Matt Hughes/Carlos Newton fight where Newton choked Hughes out w/ the triangle, resulting in the ’slam’
February 27th, 2008 at 12:03 am
The while no one is going to deny that Rampage did unintentionally headbutt Arona, there’s no way that the slam hadn’t already KOed him. His head bounced off the mat like a freaking basketball. What’s really pathetic is that Arona tried to act like he would have recovered had it not been for the headbutt, yet a year later when he lost to Shogun he tried to say that hitting his head on the mat after a TD was why he eventually went out. So lets see, getting slammed from eight feet in the air doesn’t KO you, yet a simple TD does? You ain’t fooling anyone Ricardo…
February 27th, 2008 at 12:13 am
@ cage Potatoe
Seriously sweet potatoe. you need to get your shit straight. It seems like every time you post your own opinion about anything having to do or relating to MMA you get fucken bombed for it. Dude! no joke! your an idiot. Joe riggs’s had both his feet on the matt when diegos knee hit him, The replay clearly shows Huertas knee hit the shoulder and Halverson try and play it off like an illegal shot, and joe rogan even agrees after watching the replay. as for Arlovski! there was clearly some illegal shots that went on but the truth is herb dean said go marcio cruz started working for a submission again and got hit in the head. herb Dean sux but ultimately marcios fault. The fact that you have shitty predictions and dumbass opinions doesnt bother me! Ur an idiot and thats too bad. But wat pisses me off is that you call your self some huge mma fan and you cant even stop and do research before posting sum of this garbage. Tell ya what. why dont you close this site and go do predictions for WWE where you belong. that way you can atleast look up your fake ass prediction before it happens. have a nice day and go fuck yourself.
February 27th, 2008 at 1:13 am
#6 - Herb called a break, Andrei lined up his punch, Cruz was unprepared, and he hit a clean shot. It was cheap as hell, but it was legal.
#5 - Huerta kneed him in the shoulder, Halverson played dead to get a stand up and paid for it.
February 27th, 2008 at 2:39 am
Haha @ the finnish guy shouting in the Yvel clip.
“Lopeta se saatanan leikkiminen!” pretty much translates to “Stop fucking around!”
February 27th, 2008 at 3:12 am
Goodridge vs. Musashi from the older K-1 days… poor Musashi took some BRUTAL knees right in the balls. Look that shit up.
February 27th, 2008 at 11:08 am
How about Herring vs Nakao… When Herring KO’s him for kissing him. Just so you know, AA was hitting Cruz on the side of the head near the temple when Dean stepped in. Your illegal theory went to crap on that one. Also, I am pretty sure after they watch the replay, Huerta hit Halverson on the shoulder, near the clavicle.
February 27th, 2008 at 11:37 am
Rampage knockout illegal? Whats wrong with you? Thats the best knockout in MMA history. His head hitting that guy was purely incidental. Calling that illegal is just retarded.
February 27th, 2008 at 11:42 am
about gilbert yvels ref ko..
the reff was the promotor coach and reff of the other guy..
he never pressed charges btw..
gr
February 27th, 2008 at 11:58 am

February 27th, 2008 at 12:02 pm
hey that last post isnt mine..
i know that that was heath hearing
February 27th, 2008 at 2:19 pm
“dirty”Bob Schreiber vs Daijiro Matsui PRIDE 7 at the time it was illegal to kick an opponent on all fours, and bob axe-kick-stomps matsui to the back of the head while holding the ropes after the bell!!! amazing, he breaks so many rules at the same time.. my favourite DQ in mma.
In k-1 we have bob sapp vs tsuyoshi nakasako.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N51kw8k0ivU remember this is stand up fighting with no elbows, and certainly no punches, kicks, knees or stomps to a grounded opponent…unbelievable…
February 27th, 2008 at 2:23 pm

sorry for the double post
February 27th, 2008 at 2:50 pm
@Cagepotato
I sincerely hope you die for posting the shit you put up here.
February 27th, 2008 at 3:24 pm
Wow Matt, Legit MMA,
Did daddy not spend enough time with you? Did your mommies not love you enough? You rant and rave about this sight and how pathetic it is, and how you want someone to die. . .GROW THE FUCK UP. Unless your 14 yrs old this testosterone fueled insanity that you’re spitting out makes you all look like idiots.
Some guy makes an opinion it inspires debate, some agree some don’t. I’m just sayin you guys aren’t doing anything to promote the image of a sport that you supposedly love.
And. . .I’ve got nothing else
February 27th, 2008 at 3:54 pm
Hey everyone, cry a little more
February 27th, 2008 at 7:03 pm
Whoever makes this video blog needs to remove the huerta fight. The knee was cleary to the shoulder. Watch replays
February 27th, 2008 at 10:12 pm
This page is a joke. three of those are shouldn’t even count. What a waste of time. But i did enjoy the vids
February 27th, 2008 at 11:19 pm
Wheres Herring and Nakao? It might have been ruled a no contest but that KO before the bell even sounded was pretty damn illegal. Especially after Nakao had to go to the hospital.
February 28th, 2008 at 1:43 am
3 of the 7 nastiest illegal knockouts happened within the past year?
February 28th, 2008 at 9:00 am
bob sapp vs remy bonjasky.. on k1 rules…
haha im having a seminar this saterday by “dirty bob schrijber” (and sunday by peter aerts jeah Holland rules ;))
February 28th, 2008 at 1:26 pm
I’ve never understood people who have this extreme urge to tell people they hate them. If you don’t like Cage Potato, how about.. not coming here to read the stuff he posts? Giving him more page views seems like a *great* way of hating him. I bet you go to soccer games and boo just ’cause you hate the sport as well..
@ Cage; Keep up the funny shit, however wrong it may be!
February 29th, 2008 at 6:47 pm
Man. The shit really hit the fan on this board, eh?
February 29th, 2008 at 9:26 pm
@ all the retards who takes this too seriously
Whoever reads this website hoping to get straight up news is a complete retard, it’s obviously an opinion-based website about day-to-day MMA news, written for our enjoyment. If you’re too stupid to actually make the difference between official news and some guy’s opinion, I’m seriously wondering how you managed to turn your computer on.
Nobody forces anyone here to read this website, so if you’re not happy with it, here’s a bright idea STOP READING IT.
February 29th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
You can always tell the guys with the little dicks… they come on here and take the time to post how much they hate this site, yet they’re back on everyday. I wish I could send you tools some hookers or somethin.
March 3rd, 2008 at 7:08 pm
Haha, I see they deleted my posts after I exposed MMAJunkie for the sham of a website that they are.
March 3rd, 2008 at 7:23 pm
@ Fake Performify:
Great job on exposing them!
Please e-mail feedback@cagepotato.com, and tell us how you came to hate MMAJunkie so much. If it’s interesting in any way, we’ll print it. Honestly, I’m very curious about your story.
March 3rd, 2008 at 11:23 pm
Hey what about Frank Shamrock vs. Renzo Gracie. That was awesome.
March 7th, 2008 at 5:34 pm
pickles can’t drive because they don’t have arms to steer with!!! for real it’s true
March 12th, 2008 at 4:32 pm
HEATH HERRING AND HIS I’M NOT GAY MOMENT SHOULD BE ON HERE.

NOT HUERTA
March 16th, 2008 at 4:02 am
for the sanchez riggs cry babies sanchez knocked riggs down with a clean punch, as riggs got up sanchez charged him with what looked to be a superman punch, diesal started to crouch and sanchez threw the knee in his face… he wasnt on his knees getting up, he was already up and crouching trying to avoid a knockout punch and instead got a knockout knee…
March 17th, 2008 at 3:32 pm
dude…. you guys need to check out IVC 1. Gary Goodrich grabs the guys balls and squeezes. It was truly nasty… check it.
By the way. All IVC DVDs are bad ass Blockbuster has some of them online.
March 19th, 2008 at 1:33 am
yes, rampage’s head hit arona on the slam - never noticed before. randy’s head must have smashed gonzagas nose too. interesting.
March 28th, 2008 at 6:52 pm
i have to agree with juice, some of the rules are pretty stupid, like kicking and knees to the face when they are on the ground are banned but not when standing??? you’re going to do the same amount of damage, probably less, it’s the fighters fault for poking their fucking head out when they are getting up, it’s called intelligently defending yourself.
though, they don’t allow hits to the back of the head because of possible spinal cord damage, that’s to protect the fighter from permanent injury like paralyzation, but some of them i agree are stupid and make no sense.
but yea… this list was pretty bad, i can think of way worse fights, like that pre-fight kiss knock out. and no i don’t come here, i was shown this from another site, and i’m not coming back cuz this shit is clearly stupid.
March 29th, 2008 at 7:31 am
the ref got what he deserved! Yvel for president!!!
March 29th, 2008 at 7:33 am
how about when heath herring knocked out that japanese guy for kissing him before the fight?
April 6th, 2008 at 8:07 am

In the AA vs Cruz fight …Herb tells them both to stand up but Cruz doesn’t want to stand up ,so for some reason Herb lets them stay in position(since Cruz asks so nicely) ,then when herb says go Andre immediately hits Cruz with a legal blow. and then finishes him of with blows to the head but NOT to the back of the head…Herb is saying watch the back of the head and Andre complies. I like Cruz to but he lost this one fair and square.

I don’t care what any of you say about Herb Dean. I saw him naked once, and he is hung like a bull moose! When I saw his mammoth man meat, I decided that Herb was the greatest referee in the world.
