In the wake of UFC 82, Cage Rage 25, WEC 32, Sengoku 1 and DREAM 1, we've put together a long-overdue update to our Power Rankings page. Check it out, and be sure to click on each individual weight division to read our comments and leave your own. Some notable developments since last time:
— Yes, Anderson Silva is the best fighter in the world right now.
— Our middleweight list underwent a complete deck-reshuffling, with Henderson, Lawler, and Lindland sinking in the rankings due to losses, injuries, and inactivity.
— Masakazu Imanari's recent performance (and title grab) at Cage Rage moves him up to the third-ranked featherweight in the world, after Urijah and "Kid."
— The top half of the heavyweight rankings list remains in stalemate, and there were virtually no changes to the light-heavyweight top ten; expect chaos to ensue beginning in May.
— Sokoudjou is off our light-heavy list. We just couldn't justify including a guy with only six pro fights, two of which he actually lost.
— We've included a two-person tie for the first time, at the #10 slot of the welterweight list. The decision was too difficult to make; let us know how you feel.

You people are just too sentimental about the names Barnett, Cro Cop, and A. Emelianenko. Becoming a legend (and make no mistake, Aleks never was one) doesn't mean you get to be on the top ten list forever. Certainly not ours...
Barnett: Years past his prime. Hasn't defeated a good fighter in 18 months. May be fighting cans for the rest of his career.
Cro Cop: Career is on the downswing and his heart may no longer be in the game. Hasn't defeated a good fighter in 18 months. May be fighting cans for the rest of his career.
Aleks E.: Has never, ever beaten anyone significant. Was finished by all three of the top-tier fighters he's faced. Post PRIDE, his career is completely rudderless.
Ben Rothwell: 13 straight wins. The most dominant non-UFC heavyweight competing in America. Career is on the upswing. Hasn't yet achived his full potential. You'll see.

I actually like the rankings a lot, I do not see anyway to justify Cro Cop or Aleks over Rothwell. Rothwell is on a streak like none other, where as Cro Cop is crushing cans in Japan and Aleks is doing god knows what. As for Barnett, he is great the talent and will find himself rising up the rankings, he just needs some more legit fights.

I pretty much agree with your HW stuff (for lack of a better list of my own) but you ruined it with your rebuttle in the comment above. you mention people not beating good fighters recently....well who the hell is at the top of your list and who has he beaten recently?

From middleweight down is where it just gets stupid. Granted, those ten middleweights are the only ones that even exist on the planet, so they'd have to be in the top 10, but the order is horrendous. Filho is still up there, seriously? I figured since his previous poor performance it was pretty much known that even though he has a spotless record it's apparently due to the lack of worthy competition he was facing. And maybe I'm a little bias cuz I hate several of those middleweights, but jesus I just wish Lindland would die.

and what in the hell is roger huerta doing up there? who the fuck has he beat besides clay guida, (dominated first two rounds) who seems to be developing into a decent gatekeeper for the ufc lightweights....but really, in his place couldn't you have used one of the ufc's more proven LW's? frankie edgar perhaps? or even tyson griffin, the only man to have defeated your number one featherweight? it just doesn't make sense
