I would say that the amount of “theater” would actually speak against it being a work. If it really was a work do you think he would want to make it obvious?

He didn’t do anymore clowning than he did in the Baroni fight. As for turning his back, I don’t think he stopped paying attention and was hoping that Cung would take the bait and rush in and get caught. I thought it was a great fight but Frank had a bad gameplan and was unwilling to give it up when it wasn’t working.

Yup… from experience, when you get cracked hard… you smile. Instant reverse psychology, however, it means you went dark for a second. Shammy was smiling an awful lot, so was Cung. I’m just glad it ended the way it did. Someone said it was like a sparring session, I agree, except at the end… It was more like Shammy was holding thai pads except he forgot the thai pads. Lesson to the rookies, don’t block kicks with your forearms. Waaataaaaaa!!!

Re: Frank/Cung. I was thinking the same thing when Sham did his back-turning thing. It reminded me of his Pancrase fight with Bas when he did that backward somersault then waved to the crowd. Everyone thought that fight was a work too. I don’t think the Cung fight was fake, but Frank’s too much of a showman for his own good. It’s going to get his ass killed one of these days.
