Silva wont go to 205…he will go down to 170. the guys are to big for silva at 205 and even if tries to put on weight. it would be so much easier for him to go down and keep is weight at 186lbs.

GSP vs Silva would make a GREAT fight but GSP has a long way to go before he can claim complete dominance over the welterweight division… Silva has defended his title FOUR times and he completely dominated the contenders. As good as GSP is, the truth is he has yet to defend the title ONCE (although you could argue that due to the high caliber of welterweight opponents, all his previous fights were championship-quality fights). Either way, it will be a long time before this fight happens.. there are too many good fighters in the welterweight division for GSP to move up to middleweight anytime soon.
I agree with sebastien - if anything, Silva would move DOWN to welterweight.. but i sincerely doubt he would do that. If he’s completely dominated the middleweight division, it would make more sense to move UP.

I’m from Montreal too and I find it pretty funny how Serra doesn’t take Quebecer fans more seriously..I’ve called the riot before, and I agree with Sebastien, Serra better keep a low profile or he WILL get his ass kicked, and not by GSP. If you look at Anderson Silva, there is no way he can move down to welterweight. If anything, he will fight at a catchweight between middle and lightheavy and destroy anyone who made the cut.

Anderson silva will not go fight at 205….does no make sense. you dont go up and put weight that you are gonna have to lose back for when you fight at 185. Silva walks around at 186 187. 20lbs would do nothing for him in 205 when they all walk at 220 and fight at 220..most of them.

Bullshit silva walks around at 185. I’d say he walks around at atleast 200 if not more. GSP going up to fight Silva would not be good for GSP. Silva is way too big and way too talented for GSP. Now Silva and Rampage, that would be an interesting fight! Silva is definetely more talented than Rampage, but Rampage would be alot stronger than him. I think Silva will go up to LHW next year.

…by the way, the move is “punch the person’s face in before you get hit with the bottle”. It works for me.

Anyways, Serra is just mixing it up to build some excitment for the fight. Don’t take it too seriously. Then again, he is from “NU YAWK”….that would explain a lot.

I am glad others are talking about this fight (potentially). I cannot think of two better opponents going head to head. I am wise enough to say that I would not dare to predict the outcome, but I will pay for the opportunity to see it. Maybe the two can meet in the middle at 175lb.
This fight really should happen. There aren’t any real challenges to either at their current classes.
