I don't understand all of the hype about Kimbo. Admittedly, he could probably end my life with one clean shot, but that isn't coterminous with beating top-level, pro MMA fighters.

Just imagine for a moment how badly Brock Lesnar (Read: another overhyped fighter) would ground-n-pound Kimbo. You put him in the ring with anyone with more than a few months junior varsity wrestling experience and they're going to win, handedly.

I know hes training with Bas Rutten and all that but its been what like a year or two how much can you really learn and master in that time.
Kimbo is like a novice MMA fan favorite cause of youtube. Until he fights real guys who last more then 10sec I would be careful who I taunt. I could see the Iceman reprise he role from Entourage and make kimbo say sorry worse then johnny drama.

I'm not seeing too many wins coming by the way of submissions. All decisions, punches, and strikes. People say Kimbo doesn't have good ground game and what could he learn in two years.. Who knows, but can we please stop acting like Chuck Liddell is some grappling master? Kimbo hits like a damned freight train and has won every fight that he has in the first round. It would definitely be more than most would think, a fight between him and Liddell. I would predict a very surprising win in Kimbo's corner.

And to all those moaning that he's only beat washups like Tank so far, who would you suggest the UFC put a street fighter that brought in millions in PPV due to hype against? Just blow the load and pit him against Anderson Silva right off the bat? That's just stupid. He had a good intro to the UFC and has a good chance at growing to be even more by training with Bas.

Personally i think that Kimbo would have the upper hand in this fight for three reasons. One, no one knows kimbo's ground game and therefor no one can prepare for it. Two, no amount of conditioning or experience is going to come close to softening a slug to the ear from kimbo. Three, most importantly, Kimbo's beard, due to mass versus space, creates a small black hole that bends time allowing him to see a good 3 or 4 seconds into the future.

Can we put all the street fighting nonsense aside? These are professional fighters we're talking about. As Kimbo himself puts it, "This is how we eat." While I can't speak much towards EliteXC, the UFC would never allow Chuck Liddell to fight Kimbo outside the octagon for any reason. Period. And let us not forget, that inside the octagon, these men would fight in different weight classes. I don't care what anybody says, Kimbo slice could no more cut down to 205 appropriately than fly to the moon. And Chuck Liddel is not a heavyweight, and would not be for any reason. So let's talk about some heavyweights...

First, Kimbo slice would get twisted and submitted by Frank Mir probably faster than did Brock Lesnar. Lesnar was a 265 machine when he entered that fight, looked highly athletic though unskilled, and Mir still roped him into a textbook knee bar. Slice has dropped to about 235 now that he's training for real and has lost some street fat. Did I mention that Frank Mir has two inches and twenty pounds on Slice? This fight would be an unfortunate joke, like Mir-Lesnar.

Since we're in fantasy-land, and since the UFC would likely avoid a repeat of Mir-Lesnar, let's compare Slice to a brawler, neo-phyte like Lesnar himself. Again, Slice is listed at 6'2" and about 235. Lesnar stands over 6'4" (no matter what the stats say) and weighs the maximum 265. Right off the bat, the usually physically out-classing Slice has been physically outclassed. As for fighting skills, while we haven't seen Lesnar's chin tested, Lesnar has a head like a cinderblock and likely can take a punch. Second, I don't care how much Slice's ground game has improved, Lesnar has both elite wrestling skills and animal power. Lesnar-Slice would be a better match up, but Slice would be handled. Don't like Lesnar? Consider Heath Herring...

For the sake of fantasy, let's consider Nogueira-Slice. Nogueira cannot be knocked out - not by Tim Sylvia (who is still rated #5 by this site, Slice is unrated), not by a speeding dump truck, and not by Slice. He has so much scar tissue on his head, it's like wearing a football helmet all the time. Without further analysis, Nogueira could eat all the punches Slice throws at him and still submit him without effort. Nogueira might even knock Slice out. See: the Sean Gannon fight. Gannon, by the way, has a UFC contract.

One final comment about Slice and professional MMA. With all the credit to Slice for trying to legitimize himself, there is one lesson he has yet to learn - true professionalism. This kind of thuggery is fun for thugs, but not for professional fighters or their fans. See: Charles McCarthy getting knocked out after sticking his tongue out to Michael Bisping. See: the sportsmanslike display of both fighters after Serra-St. Pierre 2. While a little trash talk is fun, and everyone does it, calling out fighters you are not capable of fighting, on an internet video no less, is not MMA, it is WWE. It is Terrell Owens. It is unprofessional. The UFC, and validation for Slice, likely wait with open arms if he could just drop the act and fight.

OK ok here we go with the flamin' , kimbo would destroy chuck liddell in a cage fight. 1. Kimbo has 30 pounds on liddell, and if that isn't enough his extra 30 pounds is in muscle not belly chub like liddell's 205. 2. Kimbo is the stronger faster striker regardless of ground game. 3. The fight would not go to the ground, kimbo has been training for a couple years now with bas ruttan, dont you think they would work on takedown defense constantly so that they can keep the fight off the ground and in the one place kimbo will have an advantage 90% of the time? 4. Chuck liddell has no where near the same punching power that kimbo does, kimbo with every punch is bringing an extra 30 pounds of momentum into his strikes, and its not slow momentum, kimbo is a very explosive fighter, very quick with the hands. 5. If by some twist of fate liddell got past the takedown defense, kimbo would be able to shift liddell to either side and get back to his feet and continue the fight standing.

the simple fact is that #1 they are in 2 different weight classes #2 chuck can throw head kicks, kimbos big head isnt hard to miss. kimbo needs a solid 2 more years of training before steppin up to anyone decent, but kimbo has good potential to be a great fighter, but right now, chuck would win.
