That fight was rediculous, it wasn't even interesting from an wrestling standpoint, if those dudes fought like that at an event, I hope Dana would fire their asses the next day. Puh-thet-ick. I know I wouldn't ever pay money to see either of them fight, ever.

@cw

Dante was already starting on the take down just before the ref stepped in. But I agree, the ref should have stuck with the stoppage and broke the fighters apart.

Personally, fighters should know how judges call these fights by now. Bitch all you want, but I knew Dante had round 1 and the sweep by Sene at the end of round 2 gave him a good impression and the judges awarded him the round. Also, with how much time was left in the episode, I figured there'd be round 3 anyways. I get bitched at non-stop at our UFC PPVs because I call the scores correctly much more often than not. No, it's not because I know everything about MMA or boxing, it's because I know how UFC judges score rounds. It's not fucking rocket science.

Dante won round 3 because he had the most time on top and was busy. He controlled most of the round, so the judges gave it to him.

KNOW HOW THE JUDGES CALL FIGHTS and react accordingly. Bitching about "I/he should have won that fight" is worthless. One of the few really decent things Dana White says is "forget the judges, finish the fight so you don't have to worry about it."

Both guys were fighting not to lose, Dante was just a bit better at it. Suck it up and improve your game.

That bout (can't even be called a fight) was a boring hugfest. I didn't see any submission attempts from Rivera, unless it's possible to submit a guy by squeezing his torso. Mazzagatti should have stood them up every time they wound up in that tender embrace on the mat.

I lol-ed at Mazzagatti trying to break them up on the cage. Mazz yells 'okay stop', Sene stops, Rivera uses that opportunity to take Sene down and then continue fighting. And then Mazz steps back and says something like 'okay continue'. It reminded me of how Scott Smith got robbed by bad reffing a few years ago.

What Joe said. I don't see how y'all can say that Sene won that fight. They weren't being particularly impressive, but Rivera's ground work and sub attempts required more effort and skill and work on his part than Sene's pitty-patty shots.

Here's a little known fact:

On February 18, 1861, Hannibal Hamlin, Abraham Lincoln's Vice President, put lime juice in Jefferson Davis's tobacco during a game of backgammon.

Approximately one month later, on April 12, 1861, Confederate forces attacked a U.S. military installation at Fort Sumter in South Carolina, commencing the hostilities of the Civil War.

Coincidence? I think not.

I wasn't at all impressed by Dante's BJJ technique. He was struggling for the americana that wasn't there, all the while missing that Sene would roll his left (near) arm up. When he did that Rivera had an easy angle to shoot his right leg over Brandon's face while scooping the close arm. It was an easy arm bar, a blue belt arm bar.

Thanks for the recap, I'm all for anything that mixes hurdlers with diarrhea and tobacco pranks.
