Kimbo Slice on ESPN’s ‘E:60′: The Return
Here’s the short follow-up to E:60’s profile on Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson that aired last December. To answer the first question you’ll have after seeing this: Blood and Bone is about a drifter who gets caught up in a mob-controlled street-fighting ring. It’s Kimbo’s first acting role, and the flick also features appearances by Bob Sapp, Gina Carano, “Justice” and “Toa” from American Gladiators, and coincidentally, another guy named Kevin Ferguson. It will be released, probably straight-to-DVD, sometime later this year. And hey, why not check out the trailer after the jump.

Referring to Chuck Liddel as a “brotha in the MMA”, which means that he basically considers other fighters to be brothers in battle. Or something along those lines. And what he’s saying is that for another fighter who does the same shit he does to rag on him is pretty low.
At least that’s what I THINK he meant.

On another note… Even if people hate on Kimbo, he’s a force to be recon with. No matter what people say. Shit talkers refer to his lost against Gannon where it supposed to be all knuckles and nothing else. Yet Gannon won much because of the chokes and knees he gave Kimbo. At that time Gannon came into the UFC game. Back then Kimbo didnt have any MMA game what so ever, he just used his fists to do the damage. Now people seem to only remember that Kimbo is was a slugger, but they forget that he’s training with Bas Rutten and the Muy Thai dude (dont know his name) to name a few.
Like I said, Kimbo’s been training and he’s a force to be recon with no matter what. He’s not a punk that backs down nor does he talk shit about other figthers. He just work his ass of to prove doubters that he is gonna be in the MMA game for a long time. Wait 1 more year or so, you’ll see Kimbo show u all haters what he can do inside the octagon.
Now people will say; He hasnt fought anybody thats good enough, he hasnt been tested. That is true, but it aint his fault, dont forget that. Its EliteXC thats makes the matches, not the fighter. So far Kimbo has demolished every opponent they have thrown at him inside the cage. And he will continue to fight no matter what, cause he’s a lion not a sheep. And the dude is humble for being the lion he is. Have yall watch the interviews and amateur clips on the net? The dude never speaks bad about nobody, if all he speaks bad about his old self, that he was a one dimesional fighter, and that he’s learning new stuff everyday and so on. Yet people hate like pussies, hard behind there safe haven. And still Kimbo get in the cage and shows he can fight and will continue to be someone to count on inside the cage.
All u haters, go see him if yall dare, didnt think so!

Anonymous, just because Kimbo knocks out the garbage opponents he’s tossed doesn’t make him “a force to be recon[sic] with.” Kimbo is completely untested and wildly overrated. He is just a magnet for both controversy and media attention (read: money.) I’m sick of hearing about him. Kimbo is the Hong Man Choi of the West; there, someone finally said it.

Joe, I wrote that people like u would mention the same stuff I wrote down. Yes its tru he hasnt been tested and yes its true that he draws money and crow, but the fact remains. Kimbo is here to stay atleast some years to come. And that cant anybody do anything about. So keep on hating, its ok, haters all over the world nowdays… Its cool. Just hope that haters pop a vain while they are at it. People will STILL get there money NO MATTER WHAT yall haters say.

I mean, he IS the original Kimbo Slice, right?
A big, huge, scary, strong looking black dude who looks like a cartoon character.
And Sapp was much taller and much heavier than kimbo, so I guess we should call him Sapp Lite.
I have no hate for Kimbo, if anything Im happy if he can make some quick bucks and set himself up but like most people I feel his notoriety far exceeds anything he has done. “Its not his fault he’s fought cans”, no its not but the fact stil is that he has shown no MMA skills whatsoever in his two fights and we should not crown him.
The Bo Cantrell, Tank Abbott fights will seem glorious once the Colossus falls down in the first 10 seconds like he is in the habit of doing.
I mean when you hire a guy who has lost 6 of his last 8 fights, knocked out 7 times in his career including by freaking Butterbean, you do it because you want to take no chances.

Im surprised they didnt get Rosie Odonell as Kimbo’s opponent and I think that big Rosie has a better jaw than Thompson.
And please stop with the Bas is God fanbois. He was a three time open hand slapping champion in Japan and had a cup of coffee in the UFC. Had he not been a highly visible broadcaster for the past decade, he would have been a footnote in MMA history.

Only name I could remember was he was somehow Mark Kerr’s coach in that HBO documentary about Kerr about 5-6 years ago when Kerr was in the middle of his 6-7 loss streak.
Big whoopeedoo, Kimbo has a MMA coach. Guess what? EVERYONE in MMA has a coach.
If he had Greg Jackson as a coach, it still tells me nothing about Kimbo but Bas?

KIMBO NEEDS TO FIGHT SOMEONE WHO CAN ACTUALLY FIGHT. I remember watching him before he joined MMA, and all the fighters he fought were shit. Most of them were 200+ pounds of fat and ego. The only reason why he gets so much attention is because everyone loves him, and that’s why they put him up against washed up has beens. I want to see him fight for a belt- if he’s all he’s cracked to be, he’s ready.
