Epic Fail: Ross Mason

"Ross Pointon by heel hook" sounds like an MMA forum punchline, but on Saturday night it became all too real as Pointon put on a ghetto jiu-jitsu clinic against the dumbfounded Ross Mason. Here's the video, which ends with the 6-10 Pointon requesting — nay, demanding — that he be given a championship belt. After the jump: Badass middle-aged man Ian Freeman's three-round domination of Paul Cahoon.

Roight! Lets 'ave a good cloin foight!

British announcers kick ass.

Is there a belt for "Second worst British fighter named Ross"?

Maybe there should be.

That "3-Round domination" was actually a pretty good fight. Although most of it was grounded and wrestling, it was actually pretty busy most of the time. That Ian Freeman dude looked like a monster.. Now if only he was smart enough to sink in a RNC, he might have finished that fight early.. I mean he only had Paul Calhoon's back like, 9 times.

I can't help but like Ross Pointon. I loved how freakin' game he was when they needed a replacement for Matt Hamill on TUF 3. The other guys punked out and said they didn't want to fight, but Ross stepped up and took the fight enthusiastically, even though he was a MW and he'd be fighting as a light heavy.

Ok, so he loses a lot. But I still like him.

Oh yeah, and thank god for subititles on TUF 3; without them, I don't think I would have understood half of what he and Bisping were saying. "Ya know wot I mean?"

Pom's are going off! Good crowd turn out, i haven't seen much of Cage Rage

Hahah. Awesome. I like Pointon. He's a very charismatic loser with a ton of heart.

Wait, which was was Pointon? Oh the one with it written across his back in large letters.

Cahoon got jacked................by the aged gunslinger.......cool

Actually it was a terrible turnout. CR usually do three times as many as they had in for that show. It bombed.

aye ross looked sharp in this fight

I haven't seen or heard from Pointon since his unfortunate mishap with a battle axe. Looks like he healed up pretty good.
