On a more serious note: What an emotional exit out of the UFC!, I respect Tito for what he has done and what he believes in first and foremost. He did his best against a guy as “elusive” as Lyoto Machida. Hopefully Tito is able to make a big mark for a different company. And I agree with Russell fighters do deserve more money but it is going to take time. People talk about how much boxers make but don’t realize that boxing has been around for years!, MMA is evolving much faster so I would not be surprised when bigger named guys will start making an exponential amount more not too long from now. The one and only cop out I noticed was when Joe Rogan asked if this was the end of the road for Tito in the UFC he said “I don’t know”, looked to me that Tito still wants to be considered to the UFC even after all the talk. I can’t blame him though, 11 years is a long time for any job and he put the work in and deserves to stay. Lyoto won the fight by fighting smarter but you can’t help but admit that if Lyoto was willing to stand more toe to toe it would of been an all out war!!!!

It is true, Keith Jardine only made 10,000. This was confirmed in the press conference. It is sad because his hospital bills would probably take up all that money. So Keith Jardine trained for months and months and made….no money and is now terribly injured (I think he went to the hospital).

People love or hate Tito and that is for sure. However he pushed the pace in the fight. Folks are calling Machida elusive. If this was any one other than Machida or another top ranked fighter he would be accused of running away (catch me if you cany) as opposed to the more respectful term of elusiveness.
As for Jenna, she is just standing up for her mand (and of course she has had a few men to say the least), but he is the man in her life now and I can respect her intentions.
I am not a big Tito fan but Machida ran away for the majority of the fight. He never controlled the center of ther octagon or pushed the action. Simply put, I was not impressed.
Most of you folks blogging have no history in MMA. I have a purple be in BJJ and 5 years experience Wrestleing.
Quite frankley, it was the most boring fight of the evening!

In all honesty, I’m not a Tito “hater”. Does he annoy me with his childish antics? You bet. Is he a legend in the ring? Without a doubt, Tito is a major contributor to MMA.
So…”most boring fight of the evening”? Uhhh…yeah, Josh is right.
But…
Machida fought the fight he should have. Ortiz has no submissions to his profesional record. Zero. He knocks fuckers out…end of story. Machida strictly obeyed rule number one of fighting: Don’t get hit.
Machida engaged Ortiz, but on his own terms. He consistantly delivered shots, but strictly controlled the pace of the fight. Ortiz showed little to no control in the fight. Ortiz would try to back Machida into the cage and Machida would move the action elsewhere.
I can see how people thought Machida was running, but re-watch the fight. In my opinion, he had strict control of the entire match. Ortiz feigned frustartion that Machida was running, but it was really frustration over not being able to contol the action. Machida locked down Ortiz, plain and simple. It seemed like Machida really did his homework on Ortiz and Ortiz just spent his time getting into shape. Tito did not look like he knew who he was fighting.
So was it a little boring: yeah, sorta. But I did appreciate a lot of Machida’s strategy. Machida did not go into that fight to lose. He had a plan and it looks like he stuck to it.

Jenna weighing in on UFC fighter pay is a joke. Her and Tito aren’t really interested in spreading the money around, just getting more for Tito.
Dana White doesn’t need a pornstar telling him how to run his business. He isn’t telling her how to run her business. Jenna Jameson has made millions in porn, while the male “actors” that slipped her the stiff one-eye have been making pennies for years. How come she never stood up for the little guy then? I’ve heard her website still makes millions - does she spread that around equally amongst the girls on the site, the camera men, the webmaster, and all of her other employees?
I’m guessing probably not.
So why is Jenna out there telling Dana and the Fertitta’s what they should do with the money they are making? She should stay out of his business because she has no idea how to run a fight promotion. I have never seen Tittieo deliver any knockouts but I have only been watching for 3 years. To me, he might want to zip his trap until he mixes in a win. The UFC probably would have fired him like they have so many for piling up L’s.

tito did not push the pace in his fight went for 4/5 takedowns and was shaken off
took a hard knee that knocked him down & allmost out
was put on the matt in the first round for G&P

even though they’re playing the asshat role, they do have a bit of a point — guys in the cage should make more money… especially at jardine’s level of competition (although i doubt he only made $10K — we’ll have to see if that’s true)

Matt, u garbage. Machida didnt run away, he controlled Tito totally. He didnt fought Tito’s fight, he fought hes own fight. He knows that Tito has heavy hands and good wrestling skills. Machida owned Tito bigtime, now Starnes on the other hand was running away the entire fight, Machida was sticking and moving, sticking and moving, kind of like Ali. Tito was pissed cause didnt couldnt catch Machida at all, Machida did land some punches, kicks and the one knee that hurt Tito and that almost got Tito knocked that fuck out!

I absolutely loved Machida’s style. The reason I can appreciate it is because I was always a weaker and smaller runt in every sport I ever played.
Tito is stronger, Tito is bigger, Tito is a more powerful striker (if it lands), Tito is a more dominating GnP’er and has a greco-roman clinch of gorilla strength.
It’s like a big, strong, schoolyard bully, fighting a smaller, quicker smarter kid.
I personally think it’s a thing of beauty to see the little smaller kid using his strategic focus to frustrate the bully and make him look uncoordinated.
But Tito did catch him by surprise on the ground, and I do think that Tito hyperextended Machida’s elbow (he never used his dislocated arm to strike after the triangle-armbar combo)
