i can see affliction as legitimate competition for the UFC, starting with their domination over the heavyweight division.
this is really good for MMA. Trump is a big public guy and will get the sport a lot of attention.

How many people have heard of Gary Shaw & how many have heard of Donald Trump?. 1 out of 10,000 might of heard of Shaw….1 out of 5 know who Trump is…

Why do fighters sign with the UFC, besides being the #1 MMA organiztion out there? (I still hate Dana White by the way)…Because as a fighter, it’s the quickest way to get recognized and is currently the only organization that pays. Does the UFC pay accordingly..?..50% of the time I would say no!….Dana has perfected the art of pimping his fighters at a bargain rate. But even the bottom end fighters are seing a better payday in the UFC than anywhere’s else. Does Elite and the others want to pay their fighters better..?..of course, but that will take time…..unless your Donald Trump and already have the capital to put forward. I think this Trump affiliation may be good. As long as affliction keeps it simple and doesn’t try to make it an XFL/WWF fireworks show, I think that they can attract allot of recognizable fighters that can promote some very entertaining fights. Once there is another viable MMA organization out there, the Monopoly that is the UFC, will have to really look at what they are paying fighters.

More people outside of the MMA community can pick out Donald Trump in a line-up before Dana White or Gary Shaw.
If anyone can gain network coverage it’s Trump.
If anyone can afford to pay it’s fighters a decent wage and not wait for the “gate” to settle, it’s Trump.

I had hopes for EliteXC, but I have even higher hopes that this Trump/Affliction venture works out…
