The Best Fight You Might Not Have Seen This Weekend
Why aren't more people talking about how great this fight between Hideo Tokoro and Darren Uyenoyama was? Easily the fight of the night at Dream.4, these two showed us what great MMA really looks like. It's just a shame that it seems to have gotten lost in the shuffle with all the action over the weekend.

Props to Cage Potato for pointing this out. I happened to watch this fight over the weekend and was delighted by this fight. These guys had no quit in them and displayed a good mix of stand up and ground. Bas Ruten was funny- this is actually a good fight!

I was up at I think 3am and this fight kept me awake. It was really a great show of MMA.
lolwut Says:
back and forth battles are always the best to watch.
JoseMonkey Says:
This fight sucked. There weren't any dancing ring girls, no post-fight, trash-talking Diaz brothers flipping the bird, and I didn't see Busta Rhymes *anywhere* in this clip. What a bunch of crap!
Seriously though, that was a great fight.
Ronny Z Says:
Wow! What an amazing fight! I wish we had more of those everywhere that freak show matches!
Vrax Says:
That fight was good, but not great, IMO. Rather it serves as reminder of the differences between Western MMA rules and Japanese rules. If elbows to the face were allowed, and upkicks to the head weren't, this would have a totally different fight, and IMO much more entertaining.
Further if it was 3x 5-minute rounds, the pace we saw at the start would have held throughout the fight. The second half of a 10-minute round is always a bit boring to me.
skidding Says:
Vrax, you just a hater. This fight was legit. In fact, I think it was too legit. Both combatants had no quit in them. They might even have been TOO legit to quit.
bfowlkes Says:
Hold on, Vrax. You're saying that fight would have been better with UFC rules? Cause I felt exactly the opposite. I thought it was a great illustration of those rules producing an exciting, yet not needlessly brutal fight.
And I agree with Skidding. Not that you're a hater, but that they were both 2 legit 2 quit.
NICK DIAZ FOR PREZ...HOMEY!! Says:
FOR THE MOST PART THAT WHOLE CARD WAS PRETTY ENTERTAINING.
NICK DIAZ FOR PREZ...HOMEY!! Says:
WOULD IT BE TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR DREAM TO HIRE A DECENT INTERPRETER??AND MAYBE HAVE A LITTLE KNOWLEDGE OF THE "STARS" IN THE AUDIENCE THAT THE CAMERAMAN THINKS WE SHOULD BE INTERESTED IN.
FightStyle Says:
This is what good MMA is all about, if the UFC fighters would do the same would be totally different.
teachbug Says:
wow, 2 useless Japanese fighters fighting each others, whats not to get excited about huh?
wait, maybe 2 useless Japanese fighters fighting each other in an inferior organization full of nobody's?
hey that sounds right.
å₧╬╧♫╞ΩΦ╚→ Says:
it was good. It doesn't matter how famous the fighters are
Kel Says:
I just watched the fight yesterday and so far it is one of the best fights of the weekend...You can't go wrong with knees to the liver and head, submission attempts, and two extremely game fighters!
DrAwesome Says:
Tokoro is an awesome fighter. If you want to see another great fight with him (better than this fight), find his fight against Ivan Menjivar
