K-1’s Greatest Hits, Featuring the Incomparable Mark Hunt
MMA Scraps has a great video compilation of the top ten K-1 fights (in their humble opinion) that I highly recommend you check out, especially if you’re the type of MMA fan who never watched much K-1. The above example, which topped the list, ought to be reason enough to check it out.
And if, like me, you watched the Mark Hunt-Ray Sefo fight and it only made you hungry for more Mark Hunt action, don’t worry. We’ve got you covered after the jump, complete with some of his MMA exploits. It’s worth the extra click just to see the look on Cro Cop’s face when Hunt takes his best head kick and keeps on coming.

Mark Hunt is the most underrated heavyweights. When Pride was dissolved, for some reason Hunt couldn’t fight in the USA, and has kind of faded into obscurity. He was the closest to defeating Fedor with that unexpected kimorra, and since then has not participated in MMA, as far as I know. He is amazingly quick and agile for his size, and has the hardest chin i have ever seen. I would love to see him in the octagon.

Thanks for the link guys! I recomend seeking out all Remy Bonjasky and Badr Hari fights, those guys are amazing and a couple readers suggested Ernesto Hoost vs Jerome LeBanner.

well supposedly, the kimora on fedor wasn’t that tight (according to fedor).. i think fuujita came really close to beating him too if not closer
mark hunt is definately a great fighter because he can take 500 hits directly to the head, and still won’t get knocked out lol. he hits hard and accurate too..

Mark Hunt and Ray sefo are both maniacs!….
But MMA Scraps says….I haven’t seen a kick like Badr hari’s in a long time…The Morrocan maniac is unstoppable at the current time!

Thanks CP! I’m glad you brought his name up with the vids. He is incredible, like the incredible hulk but with a soft candy shell. He hits like a train and is tough as nails. Hunt is one of my favorite fighters of all time.
So… where the hell is he? And don’t say New Zealand. Or retired. Or teaming up with Chuck Norris to sell the next abdominal exercise machine on TV. That might ruin my day. Because I’ve come up with this great idea… a training video called 4 second abs.

K1 Max. You guys need to start watching the little guys bang. These Grand Prix and heavyweights are all right but there is no way you can distinguish these fights the top 10 unless you hit up some K1 Max.

Mark Hunt vs. Kimbo Slice?
O_o
Mark Hunt matches all the Kimbo-Compatible criterion: Old, out of shape, retired/out of retirement, big name, slugger.
The only difference between Mark Hunt and Tank Abbot is, Mark Hunt can still knock heads off.
