The Fertitta Brothers, owners of UFC claim to be receiving offers of $1 Billion +, which they’ve turned down http://www.forbes.com/sportsbusiness/forbes/2008/0505/080.html. I believe all these fighters are underpaid for their efforts. The amount of training needed to get in this caliber of condition and skill is just as hard or harder than most sports where the competitors are paid multi-million dollar annual contracts. I hope for the good of the sport that big name sponsors will start backing these fighters to ensure more talent keeps coming into all MMA organizations. In regards to being paid for losing, there can only be one winner for each match. there is no reason that a fighter should not be compensated accordingly for his efforts.

I think Gurgel is overpaid. He should be paying US to watch him fight. He’s such a bum, but I guess as long as you’re stroking Rich Franklin’s balls you can get a fight in the UFC.

I would LOVE for someone to put together a Gurgel getting his ass kicked highlight reel.

forrest griffin is fking overpaid….hes an overrated fighter and i cant believe how much he is praised…he fricken sux and i cant wait until someone with a good ground game submits his @$$….205 lb class sux…the only good fights to watch are welterweights and frank mir (althought lightweights are getting pretty good)

I can’t help but sigh…seriously…Gonzaga, 100k…give me a break. I am so glad I didn’t bet on this card because I would have lost a fortune on that guy. He was still just riding a fluke win over Mirko, he deserves a loss and a contract closure, or at least has previously. Though by this point my hatred has seated too deeply to ever acknowledge him as having talent.

Besides that; @ all the people crying about Rampage being robbed because the UFC fixed the fight and Dana gets what he wants and the moons weren’t aligned and I broke a shoelace before the fight and dadadada….you don’t pay a guy 225k to lose. Though it may explain why Page seemed to take the loss so lightly.

these guys train for at least 3 months hard before a fight. Then they step in to the ring on INTERNATIONAL t.v to get punched in the head! They should get paid a minimum $30,000 no matter what!!!! The whole fight card got less then one million! id like to know where the rest went! i know Dana says he employs over 100 people pluss fighters. But them numbers are just bullshit!
