End of Forrest/Rampage Fight to Be Re-Created in Video Game Form

SpikeTV passes along this alert:

Tonight at 9PM on Spike TV, during a presentation of A History of Violence, Geoff Keighley, host of GameTrailers TV, will present exclusive new footage from THQ's UFC® 2009 Undisputed, recreating the end of the UFC 86 light heavyweight title fight between Forrest Griffin and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.

Might be worth a look, if you honestly have nothing going on tonight (and Amir Sadollah assumes you don't in the above promo). We hear the new footage is pretty damn realistic, right down to Juanito Ibarra stamping his feet and crying little pixelated tears after the decision. Though we'd still rather see the Undisputed recreation of the end of the Koscheck/Lytle fight.

Also: It's becoming apparent that Sadollah doesn't always understand the subtle difference between "funny guy" and "smug prick." Just a thought...

Sadollah was indeed funny, again, in this video.

It's good that the UFC have fighters like him and not brute-force-IQ-equivalent-to-null fighters who are dead serious all the time.

**unrelated** just wanted to give congrats to Ben Fowlkes for getting hooked up at Sports Illistrated to contribute to their MMA section. So is that why CP has been a little slow on producing articles lately? Man, this site is what gets me through boring ass day after boring ass day pretending to work...

Recreate it as it should have been. 1, 3, and 4 to Jackson and 2 (by 2) and 5 to Griffin. 47 - 47 draw. Rampage keeps the belt and the rematch is made.

PoK has the idea. Only reason it wasn't a tie is cause there would've been a riot and forrest is a tuffer. I mean really, they gotta give them tuffers belts once in awhile or that whole show is gonna go belly up.

I am sick of the conspiracy BS. Hey Gracies suck ass, who exactly is "they"? Do "they" really want Forrest to be champion so bad that "they" made it go to a close decision? If the UFC picked judges, that claim might have a little more weight to it. Since the UFC has no control over that, the only thing that smells funny is your stale argument.

Anybody who watches the fight with objectivity can see how the win could've been given to either fighter. That's why you shouldn't let it go to the judges. Forrest won the belt in a close decision, get over it!

BTW, I don't think Forrest will be able to hold on to that belt for a long time. He certainly will be top tier in the 205 division for a while though.

When they say "re-create" do they mean using a working game and 2 guys with controllers or will it be a custom modeled custom programmed cutscene?

As badly as I want that game to work(Then I can beat Griffin with Rampage via slam....or fatality)I can't see something as complicated as a ground game translating to a console. If they resort to a combo system, that games is screwed.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the recreation they show tonight has a rampage with metal arms and Forrest throws a couple harpoons. Not to mention Rogan screaming "FINISH HIM"

"Also: It’s becoming apparent that Sadollah doesn’t always understand the subtle difference between “funny guy” and “smug prick.” Just a thought…"

I think that's called projection, Sparky.

And you white uncle toms are going to vote for the racist obama? Just like seeing black people cheering at a klan rally, WTF is wrong with you?

WOW! so the most boring uneventful last minutes of fight will be recreated. With forrest throwing weak punches and Rampage not caring anymore about his title?
