Ben Fowlkes on the MMA Rated Video Show
At the “Affliction: Banned” weigh-ins, MMA Rated’s Ariel Helwani caught up with our own Ben Fowlkes to discuss the fights, Tim Sylvia’s chronic unpopularity, and BF’s strong personal connection with Ben Rothwell. Props to Fowlkes for resisting the urge to grab the mic from Helwani and shout out his long list of sponsors.
On a sadder note, it’s looking like my home base of Brooklyn, NY, is one of the many (or so I’m hearing) markets that’s not carrying the Affliction undercard live on Fox Sports Net. Total freakin’ bummer; holler if that’s happening to you too. In any event, I’ll still be posting live results for those first three fights, starting at 8 p.m. ET — I just won’t be able to do a play-by-play. But hey, Aleks isn’t fighting now, so who cares anyway?

I can never get MMA Rated videos to play, on this site or theirs. Other videos play fine. I’ve installed the latest version of flash. I’m on a vista machine at work, any ideas?

I live in the city too and it fucking sucks I can’t get the fights here. I think it’s cause Time Warner dropped Fox Sports Net???? Bummed as all hell that Aleks isn’t fighting too. At least I won’t miss it I guess. Bummer Summer.

Fucking Comcast has a stranglehold on the Philly market and I’m such a cheap-Irish-son-of-a-bitch that I WON’T shell out the extra $12 bucks to my ALREADY ridiculous satellite bill just to get the sports channels.
My hope is that they run the undercard after the main event. Regardless, I know I’m getting my moneys worth with the Affliction fight.
Anyways, after the fight, my plan is top put on the PRIDE/FC Bushido: Volume 1 DVD with five motherfuckin’ Gracies! YEAH!
How’s that for an aperitif, motherfuckers!

I’m on a PC at work so that’s a no go. The only reason I mentioned vista is because at home on my XP machine I can see the vids fine. I troll here and MMA Rated a lot while I’m at work so it’s annoying that the vids won’t work.

No one in the Philadelphia area will be seeing the Affliction preliminary fights at all, not even after midnight. Comcast Sportsnet is planning on filling the baseball-less primetime slots with tennis and poker, how lovely.

That sucks that they only have Vista machines where you work. All kidding aside, if I had to work on a Vista PC, I’d find another job. Not that I’m telling YOU to quit, it’s just that I couldn’t/wouldn’t stand it. XP is the one for me. Besides, everything I work on probably won’t run on Vista!
