Video of the Day: Fedor vs. Aleks

Check out this clip of Fedor and Aleksander Emelianenko (along with their coach, Vladimir Voronov) putting on a Sambo demonstration in Korea — and pay attention, because this might be the only time you'll see Fedor tap in your lifetime. There's a lot of super-slick throws from both brothers during the demo, though we don't understand why Aleks didn't haul off and start whaling on Fedor's face when he had the chance.
Speaking of Aleks, the younger Emelianenko brother claims that those Hepetitis reports were false, and he was blocked from competing at Affliction only because he was late in getting his medical tests done. Well, who are you gonna believe, us or some mulleted ex-con? (It's times like these that I truly appreciate the fact that I can hide behind a computer.)
Somewhat related: The upcoming Street Fighter IV video game will contain a new character named Abel, an MMA fighter whose outfit looks to be Sambo-influenced. Dude kind of looks like Jake O'Brien on massive amounts of steroids. According to DasGamer.com, Abel was a huge hit among nerds gamers? nerds at Comic-Con, who overwhelmingly chose to play as him rather than new female character Crimson Viper.

The problem with playing the Sambo character is that for long stretches of time, you can only fight the Freaks like E. Honda, Blanka and Dhalsim.

The word Cambo(Sambo) is an acronym of САМозащита Без Оружия (SAMozashchita Bez Oruzhiya) meaning "self-defense without weapons" in Russian.
Sambo has its roots in Japanese judo and traditional folk styles of wrestling such as Armenian Koch, Georgian Chidaoba, Moldovan Trîntǎ, Uzbek Kurash, Mongolian Khapsagay and Azerbaijani Gulesh.

Okay so, Fedor is not nearly the greatest PfP out there. This video proves that he has simply scared the crap out of the competition. Aleks' record is fairly marred but has no fear of his brother and it shows. Though Fedor is still the better of the two, Aleks demonstrates what it takes.
Then again, if this were a real fight, things might be completely different. Guess we may never know....

The amount of reversals in that video were crazy, Aleks did some very good reversals, that's why i feel Arlovski will fair pretty well against Fedor, I dont think he'll win but he will do well.

there are no face shots in sambo. watch the show on the history channel where those two dudes go around the world learning the different fighting styles i believe its called human weapons or whatever. they go from sambo, street fighting, muay thai, and jui jistzu or what not

How awsome is Fedor and his bro? I've seen them doing these goodwill demos before in Korea. Its their way of trying to grow Sambo. Fedor is a national treasure.

Aleks probably (def) didn't punch Fedor's face in because it was a demo and so was the coach's fight. They have done this before..
It's interesting to see how much taller Aleksander is than Fedor, You don't see that angle or perspective too often.
