Must-See: Rich Franklin Shows Off Acting Chops in Cyborg Soldier

(Props: UGO.com's movie blog)

Behold, a first look at Rich Franklin in the much-anticipated action film Cyborg Soldier. As near as I can figure, the film is about a cyborg soldier who has to help Kelly Kapowski save Zach Morris from the evil Mr. Belding, who is also a cyborg.

Unfortunately, the trailer only shows us brief glimpses of Ace's acting skillz, but based on those glimpses I think it's fair to say that he won't be abandoning the fight game to do Henry V any time soon. It doesn't help to play opposite Kelly Kapowski, who as we all know is one of the great talents of our time, nor does it help to play a cyborg, which is a tough, tough role. And how does Rich communicate his cyborgness in this film? By keeping his movements stilted and his face expressionless. Acting!

The DVD drops on October 7, and we'll be the ones sleeping on the loading dock at Wal-Mart so we can be the first to get a copy. Rumor has it that the sequel, coming out in the spring, co-stars Anderson Silva and is entitled "Death of Cyborg Soldier."

I think this is the sequel to Me, Myself and Irene: Revenge of Hank/ Death of Charlie Bailygates

What u mean first look i downloaded this movie 3 or 4 months ago. Also it wasnt that bad of a movie if you dont expect that much out of it.

I don't get it, where's all the animals?

This isn't an Ace Ventura sequel you ass!

haha "sequel co stars Anderson Silva titled Death of a Cyborg Solider". I was noticing Franklin's nose and thought to my self hmm, thanks to Anderson Silva he has now given Franklin's nose a little more character kinda like Owen Wilson.

I refuse to see this movie...they blew up an El Camino...the shame

Best line of that trailer was the catch phrase that flashes on the screen...

"He will be owned..... by no one"

Should be changed to:

"He will be owned.... by Anderon Sylva, twice."

That is hilarious! GG Rich!

I kill them, The will kill you. Then I die!

your "must sees" are starting to get out of hand.

"Run_Program_defend_knees_in_clinch.000": Cannot execute program

No such file or directory.

rich franklin what are you doing?get your head on straight, youre clownin man!

Man.. Rich really looks like Jim Carey in this trailer... I bet people who dont watch UFC will think it is him...

I knew it was just a matter of time before Jim Carey made an action film!

Did they just combine the plots/titles to Van Damme's movies "Cyborg" and "Universal Soldier"?

They should've combined "Hard Target" and "Timecop" if you ask me..."Hard Cop" sounds like a movie I'd like to see and maybe get the blond girl for TNBC's "Hang Time" to play the futuristic love interest.

This movie is nothing new.. It's horribly cliché, nevermind the terrible acting job done by every person.

In his best Dr. McCoy voice: "Damnit Jim, I'm a fighter not an actor!"

After viewing that trailer, the word "craptacular" comes to mind.

Wow this looks strangely familiar. Has Anderson Silva ever fought Jean Claude Van Damme?

I watched this movie about a month ago. It isn't the absolute worst movie i've ever seen, you just have to expect that it is going to be a B/C movie. Whatever it takes to start getting fighters more money.

You can check the whole thing out at watch-movies.net

I suppose you have to start somewhere...but Rich should have opted for a more charismatic role in a different film. Acting as a robot doesn't wow the crowds nearly as much as a character in say, a suspense thriller or something. Off to a great start in acting, like Couture! Oh wait, he sucks at acting. O wells!

Cyborg Soldier.... Robot Cop? Cyborg Soldier... Robocop?

not planning to watch that shit anytime soon, maybe when god proves his existence

Damm! Jim Carrey really beefed up for this roll.

well atleast with a gun he actually has a chance of pulling a decision win over anderson silva. but i wouldnt bet a sawbuck on it.
