Roger Huerta's Official Freeze-Out Begins

I didn't watch the replay, but I did see alot of ads on Spike for it yesterday, and all the ads were strongly promoting Huerta/Florian. That would seem a little contradictory if they were not planning to show the fight from the very beginning - why promote it like crazy? (I saw it at least 5 times yesterday afternoon).

It's always dumb to bite the hand that feeds you, unless you have something better waiting in the wings.

Dana White has thin skin and holds grudges for a long time. I hope Huerta is getting good grades in school. Looks like he'll be needing that plan B.

I thought Florian/Huerta was pretty good fight. Also, am I the only one who'd rather see Florian/BJ Penn than BJ fight GSP again? I'd rather see Florian-Penn and GSP-Silva.

If I remember correct, Kenflo accused Huerta of being oiled up before the fight or something, that could be a reason too. But maybe the money thing makes more sense.

@ UFC Fan: He would have to eat a lot of hamburgers if he's going to fight Kimbo. Either way, he wouldn't have much trouble winning that fight, 155 or 206.

I think Dana White's monopolistic and Stalinist tactics will bite him in the ass one day. As hard as he works to achieve a monopoly, the fighters will eventually have more control than he does. If he doesn't learn how to play fair, they're going to take their ball and go somewhere else. Affliction has already demonstrated that with the payout on their last event. Whether that's sustainable is questionable, but it shows the potential that some promoters are willing to give marquee fighters a fair deal. Don't believe me? Ask Fedor why he's not in the UFC.

I hate that this is happening to Roger, but it is what it is. He should have known better to run his mouth if he didn't have something better lined up already. If you are going to talk that shit you have to be able to back it up.

He didn't even have a solid win under his belt over a top 10 guy at that point. Clay Guida is no slouch but common'. You can't say the shit he said without having some clout. It's not like the UFC is hurting for 155ers.

You can't blame fighters for pursuing a "cash grab"...but I also won't support them when they firmly place both feet in their collective mouths.

Keep training, getting better and winning and the cash part of the deal will take care of itself.

Roger unfortunately is not doing that.

I think 60 to 80k per fight should be top dollar for top draws. the reason you get a young dumbass like huerta talking shit is cause he sees dollar signs, and thinks hes worth it....hes not! I know many of you hate Huerta because he is a pretty boy and was pushed. You ave to admit he is a good fighter. If you read the article all the way and not just snippets, he ws just saying that he wants to be taken care of and treated fairly. Who doesn't want the same from there employer? While I can teach for another 30 years, he only has a short time to make good money.

Huertas a good fighter. Thats pretty f***ed up. I personally hated the Florian match. Oh well Dana, you wanna lose some latino fans for not pushing him then thats your smart move.

Agonistes and UFC Fan y'all wish you had half the talent Roger has in one of his nuts. I doubt the UFC will give him the Arlovski treatment. Reason being is because they want to expand to Latin countries and he is their biggest draw. Yes Florian beat him and his parents are from Peru.,but Huerta is quite frankly more marketable and a much more feasible option. Besides we all know that Kenny vs. Roger was a bullshit fight. If Roger had no talent why would "Mr. I finish fights" fight like Machida? What you need to do is talk about how Kimbo needs to open his eyes and recognize that he was made out to be so much better than he really is.
