Brock Lesnar: Here Comes the Pain
Brock Lesnar's segment on E:60 aired yesterday, and we learned a few things about the WWE-superstar turned UFC heavyweight contender. Namely:
— His childhood on a struggling dairy farm in Bumblefuck, South Dakota, inspired him to achieve something greater with his life.
— He's always liked beating the crap out of people. "Handling another human being and making him feel less than you is, I don't know, something that I got a thrill out of," Lesnar says.
— He never watched "a lick" of pro wrestling before he joined the WWE.
— Being a WWE champion takes its toll, both physically and emotionally. He wrestled for six months with a blown-out knee and three broken ribs, and lost two years of memories to vodka and pain pills, which he was basically addicted to.
— Bret "The Hitman" Hart looks scary-old.
— Steroids are a touchy subject for Lesnar, even though he's never taken them. When the interviewer starts asking him about his unnaturally large physique, Brock sees where the line of questioning is headed and storms off. "I have never failed a fucking drug test," he says later.
— Lesnar doesn't put much faith in Randy Couture's claim that he's stronger now than he was 10 years ago. "My ass, he is. I'm 31 and I'm not as strong as I was 10 years ago. That's a straight-up lie."

Pretty sad that he doesn't remember 2 years of his life. I don't understand how the other guys like HHH or Bret H do/did it for so long. @Fenix: I worked for Best Buy back in '94 and as a result of some promotion they were doing had the pleasure of meeting Randy 'Macho Man' Savage. He showed up to the store in full persona, vaulted out of a stretch limo - spent the next 3 hours talking to everyone, signed anything they wanted, posed for pictures and all that. Once the event was over I was still on crowd control making sure he had a chance to relax and change into street clothes. I sat back in a side room with him waiting for his transportation to show up and we just kinda bullshitted for about 40 minutes. He was a really decent guy, very humble and had no ego to speak of. You could see in his face and by the stories he told how freakin' worn down they are by their show schedule. Was never really a huge fan of wrasslin' but I do give them credit for busting ass.
Most memorable part was seeing a Honda Accord pull up to the install bay doors, he stands up - starts grabbing his gear and says "There's my ride." I guess it was the look on my face that asked the question for me, he put his sunglasses on and said "That's Wrestling man, come in a Limo, leave in a Pinto." he laughed and walked out to the car. :D

Oh and RH perfect quote, I think there's no doubt in my mind after seeing how he reacted to the steroids question how he answered it "I've never tested positive" that's the only way to answer it so if you do test positive in the future you can't be called a liar...hey I said I never tested positive not that I didn't do roids. I came from this interview hating this guy, he's arrogant as hell, talks shit about Randy whom I don't even care for as a fighter that much anyway but he's well respected in mma and Lesnar should show him that respect. I've studied MA since I was 13 nearly 20 yrs and people who come from MA background in MA seem to show respect to their opponent because of the way MA teaches you than most wrestlers who enter the sport. Damn I hope Randy kicks his ass but I hate to say it i think Brock will just overpower him as he did HH, HH isn't a small guy by any standards and Lesnar just bullyed him like he was a 12 yr old little girl.
What I came away thinking from this piece, Lesnar's a roid injecting (or was at one time, just look at how much bigger and ripped he was during his time wrestling and how he is now) arrogant prick who's got an overinflated ego and sense of how awesome he is....when he starts talking shit and disrespecting others is where i draw the line with supporting him or truly disliking him, and I now strongly dislike this cock-trap.

Brock is a guy that is both easy to like and easy to dislike... at the same time.
Things I like about him:
1) Tons of physical ability for a guy his size.
2) Solid wrestling base, a good thing to build on in MMA.
3) Turned his back on $$$ in order to be true to himself.
4) Is taking MMA seriously. Laying low and training his butt off.
Things I don't like about him:
1) He often comes off as a completely egotistical jerk-wad. Should he somehow manage to squeek out a win against Randy, I'm not so sure I'm excited about him being the "new face of the heavyweight division."
When Randy says he's "stronger than he was ten years ago" he may not be talking just about physical strength. Randy is simply saying that the Randy of today could kick the Randy-of-1998's butt in an MMA match. Brock can't argue with that, because no doubt, the Brock of today (with all his recent striking and submission training) would murder the Brock of 10 years ago.
