Anderson Silva Wants a Make-Up Fight "Immediately"
(It's like he saw that Condom Depot ad and became enraged. I've never seen a man who hates birth control with such a ferocious passion.)
You bastards have done it now. You fans and media with your hate mail and hate articles, accusing Anderson Silva of conduct unbecoming a champion. Now he's pissed. And Silva is not like your sister. He doesn't turn to ice cream when he's upset. He turns to awesomely destructive violence, and he would prefer to do it as soon as possible according to UFC president Dana White, who had this to say to the Las Vegas Review-Journal regarding the champ:
"He's flipping out. He wants to fight again, like, on Nov. 15," White said. "He's (upset) about his performance and he wants to fight again immediately."
Now that's the attitude you want from your champ. Of course, it's completely unreasonable to think the UFC could get him a worthy opponent in time for UFC 91, so don't get too excited. But this might be the perfect time for creative matchmaking on the UFC's part. Maybe they can't get a top-level challenger, but could they get three mid-level guys? Middleweights, light heavyweights, anyone who needs a paycheck, really. How about if Silva faces Ed Herman, Houston Alexander, and an unemployed ninja all at once?
No, that's still not fair. Okay, the ninja can use his throwing stars and Houston can use illegal knee strikes. Ed Herman, he has to show up drunk. Check that, he gets to show up drunk. This is one night he's not going to want to remember.

There should be a line of people ready to step in and take this fight...The UFC is supposed to have the best fighters in the world right?? Well why isn't there a line of guys ready to step in and go to war. why wait until 2 months before and start getting ready for your fight, why not always be ready just in case a situation like this comes up? There are 48 Middleweights in the UFC including Silva, That means there should be 46 middleweights(Cote is Out) willing and able to at least get in the cage and fight this guy. The UFC needs to make this happen, it would be pretty sick.

How about Lawler? He might be crazy enought to fight him on short notice. He's a big name and highly (over IMO) ranked. Lawler has a ton to gain and he's on good terms with the UFC. I know they were thinking a 205 fight next, but another title defense so fast is just as (if not more) impressive.

I agree 100%. An Anderson Silva vs. Robbie Lawler fight would be great, especially in short notice. I doubt Lawler could turn down the shot @ the middleweight belt, and Anderson Silva can't turn down kicking ass, so its great. If the UFC could make this fight happen for Nov.15 I would shit my pants. The Nov.15 card is looking very weak aside from couture vs. lesner, this would make a great co-main event. COMEON DANA. Make it happen.

Could it be that even Anderson Silva is admitting that his "brilliant" decision to pointlessly drag the fight out (by refusing to use his amazing skill set) for three rounds wasn't the greatest idea?
You can stick up for the guy all you want, but it's kind of pointless if even he admits his performance was sub-par.

Like I said in a previous comment, I truly believe Silva thought by going 5 rounds he was giving the fans their money's worth and doing us a favor. I don't think he intended it as disrespect, even though that's how anyone with half a brain would have interpreted it. Maybe he was trying to be funny. He did say he wanted the fight to be "entertaining". Maybe his idea of entertainment is being goofy in the cage. Either way I expect he won't make this mistake again.

IF CB were to attempt a lay n pray for 5 rounds(yeah right) he'd be the break out star for the UFC! When Anderson Silva takes out a familar face in aproximately 10 seconds, he gets his fans back! While doubtful Dana White has the balls or competitiveness to truly call one of his golden boys bluffs I present the following match up. Anderson Silva vs Loyota Machida. If Silva is truly wanting to please the fans and asert his dominance then take the challenge against your boy Silva. Non title fight at 205 to give Loyota the chance to prove he can fight and not dance and evade a slower washed up ex champ but rise to the level of the elite. Flip side Silva takes on a technical evassive fighter much like what Cote was presenting him with and he can show us how it should have gone with Cote without the five round grandstand bullshit. Just a thought.

I know they are friends thats exactly why I presented the idea of calling Silvas bluff on his real desire to get back in and prove himself. Furthermore I did fight for a long time and the noble idea of not fighting a friend is bullshit. we beat on eachother sometimes harder in training than we do our oponents in the fight and first and foremost its a business. I fought several guys i considered close friends and can tell you we would be much more honored to lose to eachother than a random oponent. That whole camp uses that reasoning and to each there own but friendship is about bringing out the best in eachother so perhaps they should consider what it is they really think they are protecting.

Playing around in your backyard with boxing gloves with a bunch of friends is not the same thing as fighting a TRAINING partner for real in the UFC. It’s not just friendship that is the problem, they train together as well. On a side note, there are a bunch of notable opponents for the spider that is not part of his camp, so why not call someone that is free to fight and from a different camp?

First off Every fighter starts somewhere kid and yes Silva is just a person like you and me and there is no magical mystique to the UFC caliber training camps. whether an up and comer in smaller shows or a UFC champ training out of militich you train the same program its the difference in experience and natural talent.That said get some EDU it wouldnt be the first time or last that two people from the same camp have fought... yes even in the magical kingdom of the UFC.
