What cracks me up is all this talk about sealing up our borders, when Georgie Bush himself signed into effect a movement that will, by 2018 I believe, combine Canada, U.S., and Mexico into basically one nation, with open borders. The US and Candadian dollar, along with the Mexican Peso, will all be disposed of, in favor of the new currency, the Amero. It's called the Amercian Union (similar to the European Union) and it's the next step into eventually incorporating South America, then eventually the world. One goverment, one power, and it is absolute power.

So, yeah, let's all be idiots and throw money away sealing up our borders. And don't forget, George Bush, the genius that spouts this nonsense about securing our borders, is the President that signed this into effect, and kicked it all off.

Cap'n, I presume you're talking about NAFTA. Clinton was the one who signed the NAFTA agreement, but Bush et al have been firmly in support of it, and have expanded the agreement in a number of ways. However, your depiction of it is misleading - it's primarily a free trade agreement. The comparison with the EU is wrong. They went much further with the EU than they have done with NAFTA.

It looks like Hughes reads (and believes) those chain emails that my mom sends me. I'm guessing he formed all of his opinions on "from what I've heard." Seriously, a 65% tax bracket?!? They don't even take that much from lottery winnings. If Hughes watched even one of the debates, he would have heard that Obama plans to move the $250,000 and up bracket from 36% to 39%, just like it was under Clinton. Also, that extra 3% isn't being "given" to anybody. It's going to pay for the dumbass war, the dumbass debt, and the dumbass dept. of homeland security. Entitlements (social security, welfare, etc.) have been dwindling since the mid 90s because we can't afford them any more. If you have some time, check out our 2008 federal budget and look at our operating revenue and our expenditures. It might change the way you think about how our government works and how the president can affect spending.

I love how people like to deride Sarah Palin for her so-called lack of experience when she'll be "a heartbeat away from the presidency", yet they smugly avoid talking about the fact that if Obama wins, his heartbeat WILL be that of the president and he has absolutely no experience running anything other than endless campaigns for the next position he aspires to. The magic word "change" makes specifics unnecessary. If things are going bad, some think that what is needed is blank-check "change." But history shows any number of countries in crises worse than ours, where "change" turned problems into catastrophes. The public has been told very little about what this man with the wonderful rhetoric has actually done. What we know is enough to make us wonder about what we don't know. Or it ought to. For the true believers — which includes many in the media — it is just a question of whether you like him or not. When one thinks of all the men who have put their lives on the line in battle to defend and preserve this country, it is especially painful to think that there are people living in the safety and comfort of civilian life who cannot be bothered to find out the facts about candidates before voting to put the fate of this nation, and of generations yet to come, in the hands of someone chosen because they like his words or style

@Nobama - that woman could'nt name a single supreme court decision outside of Roe vs. Wade. And that is shocking. The least she could have done is mentioned Board vs. Brown. I'm an independent and no fan boy of the Democractic party. But McCain seriously makes me wonder what the heck he was thinking by picking a VP like that. If there is no other woman in the Republican part with a smarter head on her shoulders than Palin then the conservatives are in real trouble. McCain isn't winning this election ... the republican party has made conservatism = dog poo.
