Videos: Faber Surprisingly Upbeat, Sonnen Wants That Belt, & More
Urijah Faber wasn't kidding when he said he was a happy person who loved life. Even as he admits that he doesn't really remember what happened in his loss to Mike Brown on account of all the punches to his head, he still seems to be in a pretty pleasant mood in the post-fight press conference, captured here by ESPN.
Chael Sonnen, however, describes his fight with Paulo Filho as "like being in a dance with a partner who doesn't know how to dance." He also says he hasn't received Filho's belt, as promised, and he's absolutely not above accepting it should they offer it, despite the weird circumstances.

Sonnen should have done a "Deebo" on Filho one of the times he was spacing out on whatever hallucination kept distracting him and knocked him the fuck OUT. Filho doesn't deserve that belt if he doesn't respect what it means to be a champ. Missing weight is bad enough, but to act (or actually not act) like he did is unacceptable. That's twice Sonnen has been robbed of a fair fight for the title.
Props to Faber for good sportsmanship, and to Mike Brown for re-affirming how unpredictable MMA really is, lucky shots or not.
Also loved Pulver's pre-fight comment about Garcia only having one KO compared to the numerous KOs he has. Make that two now, and score one for irony!

Obviously Mike is competent, otherwise he wouldn't have been there to have that opportunity, and total congratulations to him for winning. Nobody is invincible, which is what makes MMA so awesome, but I would need a re-match between Faber and Brown to be fully convinced about Brown. Faber was flying around, a little too reckless, and his opponent was obviously much better prepared than he had anticipated. If that elbow had landed, it would have been Brown on the mat. Shoulda, woulda, coulda-but Faber seems like the kind of guy to learn from his mistakes; I would expect a different fight if it comes up again.
