Round of 16, Pool B
Gina Carano [#1] vs. Juliana Salimeni [wild card]

The Brazilian bombshell was the definition of “dark horse” in this tournament, but odds-on favorite Gina Carano got the edge with 56.8% of the vote. If only Juju had mobilized her massive twitter following, things could have turned out much differently. Anyway, we hate to see Juliana go…but we love to watch her leave.
Carol Dias [#4] vs. Shannon Lee Marr [#5]

It was a bad day for the Brazilian contingent overall, as the foxy Shannon scored a minor upset in the opening round, advancing with 55.5% of the popular vote.

Kelli Hutcherson [#3] vs. Corissa Furr [#6]

Again, pitting both Strikeforce ring girls against each other was a regrettable decision. But only one can advance to the quarterfinals, and Kelli earned her spot with 56.4% of the vote. Corissa is still young in the game, and we know she’ll bounce back strong next year.
Brittney Palmer [#2] vs. Jade Bryce [#7]

In the biggest blowout of the opening round, Brittney Palmer stormed through Ms. Bryce, taking 81.9% of the vote. Jade simply didn’t have the name-recognition to compete with the much-admired WEC/UFC ring-goddess. But she’ll always have a special place in our hearts…

That flappy-skinned bastard doesn't make the sandwiches, non-threatening minorities do, like Chinese people and Indians.
