The Technique Thief: The Move Holly Holm Should Steal From Dominick Cruz

If you know me, which many of you don’t, you’d understand that I’m absolutely in love with striking. I certainly love MMA and respect the ground game a ton (this coming from a guy who was thoroughly entertained by Jon Fitch back in the day), but striking has always been my favorite part of the game and as such, I do have a leaning towards striking based fighters. But after witnessing the main event of UFC 208 it became painfully obvious that what was missing was some quality grappling work, mainly on Holly Holm’s end who initiated the wrestling exchanges.

Fallout: UFC 208 AKA The Brooklyn Screw Job

Well that was interesting to say the least. UFC 208 wasn’t the most action packed event of the new year and it’s definitely left us with more questions than answers at its conclusion. Holly Holm failed to be the first woman to win belts in multiple divisions as she dropped a razor close decision to Germaine de Randamie or the post bell puncher as she’s begun to be labeled. The fight was competitive with a few slow spots here and there. But the drama surrounding the main event more than made up for any lulls in the action. So what’s the takeaway from UFC 208?

Does Anderson Silva Have Anything Left In The Tank?

Anderson Silva is considered to be arguably the greatest mixed martial artist of all time. Some would argue that spot belongs to Fedor Emelianenko but that’s neither here nor there. Silva has proven himself to be a true warrior in the cage and has done so by dispatching many foes with the same ease an average person would when swatting a fly. Anderson Silva in his heyday was certainly special. But against these young and hungry up and comers one has to wonder how much he’s got left in the tank.

Even If It Does Happen, Just What The Hell Can Conor McGregor Do To Beat Floyd Mayweather?

So with my dedication to writing Fallout articles, the chance to speak on Conor McGregor and his quest to become the first major MMA star to cross over and dominate in another combat sport, *cough* Alistair Overeem *cough*, has been a bit out of reach. It’s a strange day to see a UFC champion grow to such heights to be capable of calling out another sport’s pound for pound king. Floyd Mayweather is boxing’s most polarizing figure and the man is retired. Nevertheless, Mayweather still has a target on his back. A fight with Mayweather means money in the bank for both him and his potential opponent. But Conor McGregor is no slouch in producing big bucks in a major pay-per-view event. Both Mayweather and McGregor hold something special that makes even the most casual of combat fans want to tune into one of their fights.
