It’s going to be a real shame when this circus act has to end (with Conor McGregor‘s decapitation).

Hot Potato: 14 Photos of Full Contact Contender Ring Girl Jessica Adele

(Props: Babes of MMA)

You know, when there’s not much to talk about in the MMA world, we love that we have the artistic freedom to shamelessly promote the oft-underappreciated brand ambassadors of the sport. We’re talking about ring girls, of course, aka the select group of people that Ronda Rousey hates with every fiber of her being.

Maybe it’s just me, but I simply cannot look at someone like UK-based card carrier Jessica Adele up there and react with negativity or hatred (though I’m sure many of you taters will be able to drum some up for me). Ms. Adele has been busting her hump(s) for various MMA and kickboxing organizations over the past years — most notably Full Contact Contender — and while she may not put in the “work” of a Rousey or even a Tate, she still works, dammit, and isn’t that enough?

Anyways, check out 14 of our favorite photos of Jessica after the jump, and make sure to support your local ring girls by voting yes on Prop 13.

Must-Watch Video: Justin Gaethje’s Barnburner With Luis Palomino at WSOF 19

If you thought it would be damn near impossible to see a better fight this weekend than Hideo Tokoro vs. LC Davis at Bellator 135, think again, dum-dum.

At WSOF 19 on Saturday, featherweight champion Justin Gate-gee (I’m spelling it how it’s pronounced from now on. You hear me, Joanna Unj8chick?!) took on AFC and Bellator veteran Luis “Baboon” Palomino. The young phenom was being listed as high as a 5-to-1 favorite over his journeyman opponent, but instead of a quick and easy squash match, what transpired at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Phoenix, Arizona might just have been the greatest title fight in WSOF history.

Scratch that, it was *easily* the greatest fight in WSOF history. Period. Exclamation Point. Smiley face. #YOLO

But Gaethje vs. Palomino wasn’t the only highlight of the night. No, another came in the form of noted dirtbag Thiago Silva getting pounded out, prison-style, by late replacement opponent Teddy Holder. A gif of that finish and the full WSOF 19 results are after the jump.

[VIDEO] Oh, This? Just Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo Talking Smack on Fox Sports Live

A mere…four months out from their featherweight title tilt at UFC 189, Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor are already being given the insult-laden media tour treatment. They’ve already received their own Embedded series, lobbed steroid accusations at each other in various interviews, and most recently, engaged in a bilingual bro-down on Fox Sports Live. It’s kind of unprecedented, really.

You can check out the entire cringeworthy interview above, which features such highlights as McGregor claiming to be aroused by the “beautiful aroma” of fear that Aldo is secreting (gross), or Aldo comparing Mcgregor to Scooby Doo (lol!). Honestly, it’s pretty difficult to watch two guys throw shade at one another when a translator is involved, but McGregor is the kind of cat who could sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman in white gloves, ya dig?

Meanwhile…Demetrious Johnson sits at home playing Xbox and wondering when the damn camera crews are going to arrive already. :(

After the jump: The first three (or as McGregor would say, “tree”) episodes of the aforementioned Embedded series.

UFC 186 Loses TJ Dillashaw, And Therefore All Fan Interest, to Rib Injury

(WHAT ARE YOU SMILING AT, TJ? CAN’T YOU SEE THAT *WE’RE* THE ONES IN REAL PAIN?!! via Getty.)

Perhaps the most shocking thing about UFC 185 was not the pair of title fight upsets that occurred that night, but that all of the fighters competing in said title fights even managed to make it to fight night at all. There aren’t many injury-free fighters like Jeremy Horn these days, to the point that the UFC is forced to abandon plans for a card containing just one title fight more often than not, or just cancel the card altogether. With UFC 186, they were attempting to do the impossible again, booking both the TJ Dillashaw-Renan Barao bantamweight title fight rematch and a flyweight bout between champion Demetrious Johnson and Kyro…Kyjo…some other guy.

What I’m saying is, we probably shouldn’t be that surprised to learn that one of those 2 title fights (the one we were interested in, more specifically) will no longer be happening.

Details after the jump.

Dethroned: The Top 5 Championship Upsets in UFC History

(Oh, this? Just the face of a man who knows he’s about to be chewed out by the Wheaties people. via Getty.)

By Scott Johnson

UFC 185 was a very interesting anomaly in the world of MMA, in which two incumbent champions were dethroned by the challengers who were considered underdogs going into the fight. Carla Esparza was only considered a slight favorite heading into her fight with Joanna Jedrzejczyk so the surprise there was minimal, but there weren’t many people expecting to see Rafael Dos Anjos topple Pretty Tony Pettis. Hell, most of us were already looking forward to Pettis vs. Nurmagomedov, but the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry, and now the UFC Lightweight division has a new champion in its mix.

In the spirit of these events, I’ve compiled what I consider to be the top five upsets in UFC championship history. I have no doubts that there will be a difference in opinion as to which fights belong here or which order they should be in, but in the words of the great Oskar Schindler, “Fuck you, it’s my list and I’ll put who I want on it.”

Fight Night 62 Aftermath/Results: Maia Dominates LaFlare, Koscheck & Baszler Edge Closer to Retirement in Night of Thrilling Finishes

(Photo via Getty.)

Fight Night 62 was one of those cards that, while appearing just abysmal on paper, actually turned out to be a rather entertaining affair. I mean, sure, the main card broadcast dragged along at it’s typical sloth-like pace — something that the UFC desperately needs to change but sadly never will — and the main event wasn’t exactly the kind of barnburner we’ve come to expect from a Demian Maia fight (sarcasm), but Fight Night 62 more than made up for its lack of name power with exciting finishes. It was also a card that signaled the (competitive) end of at least two MMA careers and the possible resurgence of another, so join us after the jump for a full breakdown of what went down in Rio over the weekend.

Six Things More Likely to Occur Than Ronda Rousey Losing To Bethe Correia

(Props: Fox Sports)

By CP Reader Ramsey O’Shea

If the circulating reports have any truth to them, it looks like Ronda Rousey will make her next title defense against Bethe Correia in the main event of UFC 190 on August 1st. According to my local gambling expert, Vegas oddsmakers should list Rousey as something around a kajillion-to-one favorite over her Brazilian opponent out of the gate, a betting line which will only continue to swing in Rousey’s favor as fight night approaches.

This is not what you’d call a gambler’s paradise, folks, so much so that I asked the top statistician I know to punch up some numbers and find me a handful things more likely to occur than a Bethe Correia win at UFC 190. Here’s what he came up with…
