UFC 150 Recap: Benson Henderson retains his belt in Denver, Colorado

UFC 150 took place tonight live from Denver, Colorado, and Lightweight champion Benson Henderson has retained his championship belt in a somewhat controversial split decision over former champ Frankie Edgar. The fight saw Henderson possess an advantage in significant strikes, outlanding Edgar 89 to 62. However, Edgar held a huge advantage in the area of control, with 3 minutes, 15 seconds to a mere 10 seconds by Henderson. Edgar rocked Henderson early in the fight, while the champion landed many leg kicks.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to Japan this Saturday, February 25. The main event on the card, UFC 144, will feature a main event bout that will see Frankie Edgar defend his UFC Lightweight title against former WEC Lightweight Champion Benson Henderson. The co-main event will feature a Light Heavyweight scrap between Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Ryan Bader.

DREAM yesterday morning pacific time held a spectacular Fight for Japan GP finals card. Unfortunately, for many people from English speaking countries we couldn’t witness this event live from the Ariake Colisium in Tokyo. Only Japanese TV station SkyPerfecTV had the live fights and our way of keeping up to date with the event was through Twitter. The results are in and the post-fight interviews have been released.
