Affliction’s Third MMA Event Gets a Name and a Poster

(Image courtesy of via MMA Mania)

As our friend Kris Karkoski points out, "Naming the third Affliction event ‘Trilogy’ sure makes it sound like this is going to be their last card." Very true, though at least they’re finally giving us the fight we’ve been waiting for — of course I’m speaking of Dan Lauzon vs. Chris Horodecki. (Fedor Emelianenko vs. Josh Barnett should be a decent scrap as well.) As we reported earlier, "Trilogy" may feature that rumored somethingweight fight between Gegard Mousasi and Vitor Belfort, and the poster also promises appearances by Tim Sylvia, Ben Rothwell, Paul Buentello, and Renato Sobral.

Don’t worry guys, Dana already has you down on his tombstone

I believe Barnett deserves a shot at Fedor, but it's still going to be a one-sided fight.

Affliction : You know we still sell tee shirts!

At least Barrnet can get his as beat now and everyone can go back to talking about how Fedor beat 3 former UFC HW champs.... stressing the former part.
As in they couldnt hang so they left thinking they would win a title some place else only to run into the 1 HW that doesnt fight in the UFC who proceeded to beat the snot outta them.

The Golden Boy logo makes me hopefull that this isn't the last we see of Affliction. If Fedor wins, it really cements his status as the greatest heavyweight MMA fighter to date.

Trilogy does make it sound like its over. They could have called it "Affliction The Third" and at least pretend its going to continue.

Looks like Strikeforce will have to be the only real rival to the UFC. I would love if Affliction's fighters joined Strikeforce.
