(Big Nog puts it as gently as he can.)
Watching The Ultimate Fighter, sometimes it’s hard to tell whether it’s all clever editing that makes some people/teams look like the bad guys. But this extra footage from last night’s show has me thinking that no, Team Mir really is the evil team.
After the fight we see Jules Bruchez looking downtrodden while Vinny Magalhaes is asking, with regards to Octagon girl Arianny Celeste, “Can anybody get her number?” No, Vinny. Not anybody. Then we go inside each team’s locker room after the fight. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira tries to help Jules understand what the hell just happened to him, while Frank Mir jokes with Vinny and the gang about breaking Jules’ arm. You know, just for laughs.
I’m not saying that Team Mir are all bad people, but if this were an 80′s teen movie, I think we all know which team would be the mean-spirited bunch who gets their comeuppance in the end, and which would be the lovable losers with the hearts of gold who persevere despite the long odds. And can’t you just imagine Nogueira smiling and laughing his way through the training montage while a Bonnie Tyler song blares?

commentsWow. That may be the most accurate metaphor I've ever read.
So does this Karate Kid comparison mean that Nog beats Mir via nose honk?
That guy is a piece of shit. I had some respect for him but after seeing the way he acts around the fight game, I'd love to see his fucking arm get broken. Fuck you, Mir. You are going to Lose to Nog.
The sheisty thing about Mir's team is that they keep matching their best with Nog's weakest in order to "destroy and devastate" (which backfired with Junie). Nog seemed more interested in matching fighters who made compelling fights.
Granted, Mir's strategy is legit, but not exactly what one might call honorable. Plus, Mir's refusal to meet Nog half-way on limiting the pranks in the house didn't look good on him either. However, any time Mir's team has crossed the line, he's spoken out and expressed his disapproval.
I'm enjoying this season and have thoroughly enjoyed getting to see more of Big Nog. I've loved him since his early Pride days and think it's great he's getting some love and air-time in the ol' US of A.
At least until we get back to guys that are capable enough to shed the underdog title. I honestly didn't remember Jules at all until they showed that clip and it clicked that he was the asshole that kept acting like he had just choked out Wandy after falling into a win in his entry match.
If so who is Johnny and who is Daniel LaRusso?
And yes, Frank Mur (as Brock would put it) IS the evil team. Doing pranks, crazy drunkedness, douchebag coach, envy and jelousy, all the ingredients are there.
