Afternoon Video Dump: Irvin vs. Khalidov, Pitbull vs. Karakhanyan + More

If you have a morbid interest in seeing how James Irvin‘s last fight against Mamed Khalidov went, well, here you go. I’m not going to throw around the word “work,” but check out how wide and telegraphed Irvin’s punches are, starting at the 0:21 mark — it’s the universal non-verbal sign for “please armbar me so I can collect my paycheck and head to the airport.” And that’s pretty much what happens. Happy now?

that dood i swear, he went out one time from Jones' punch and came to and recovered and kept going. I woulda quit after round 2 easily... but that mofo man.. goddamn. tough sob. true fighter.

Not a work in the Irvin bout you crazies... Mamed would throw his ass around every time they fought (regardless of if Irvin was juicing or not).

yeah, I don't get the whole "Pitbull" name thing, I mean there's Piranha, Polar Bear, Rattle Snake, etc. And if you're gonna include the viral life forms, why not just go straight up "Black Death," or even "AIDS?"
And on to Irvin - if that wasn't a fix, that's sad, he was like holding his arms in punching position waiting for the dude to do something.

The Irvin fight was not a work, thats just really how good he his. Also you have to look on the bright side of this Shogun thing. The last time he was coming off a long layoff and surgery he lost to Forrest Griffen. He looked soft and out of shape, it is not outside the realm of possibility that he could have lost to Rashad. Then where would we be? We probably wouldn't be in the position we are now where the likely hood of another awesome Shad punch face is on the horizon. While this is bad for all us Shogun fans it is the best news all of us Rashad haters could have hoped for.

On the JDS video, based on the high-pitched laugh, I thought Anderson Silva was recording it. Also, notice he has to jump off the post of the cage, because the fence probably wouldn't support him.

I can feel my liver imploding and my body doing that convulsion spaz out thing it does when I watch that. I want to have my liver either removed or armor plated.

Shogun hung in there like a champ. He lost nothing in my eyes . . . Bones just gained even more respect.
