Steroids in MMA
Which MMA Fighter Will Test Positive For Steroids Next?

Aleks Emelianenko Still Claims to Be Healthy, and He Doesn’t Care What You’ve Heard

(In his own words: “Tattoos are my hobby. That is that.” Photo courtesy of Sherdog.)

While you’re trying to figure out what witty zingers might pass between Aleksander Emelianenko, Vladimir Putin, and Jean-Claude Van Damme in our latest caption contest, you might be wondering to yourself, what ever became of Aleks after he was kicked off the Affliction event amid rumors that he may or may not have Hepatitis B? Well don’t worry. According to Aleks, it was all just a paperwork issue, as he explains to The Fight Network:

“I came late, couldn’t get my Visa in time and I was not allowed to fight. I’m healthy.”

That’s weird, because just last week M-1′s Raimond Joost said you had “medical issues.” Granted, he also expressed optimism that they could be resolved, but he sure as hell didn’t try and chalk the whole thing up to Visa troubles. Not to mention, if it was just a paperwork snafu, why would the CSAC’s Bill Douglas say this:

“The one thing that I can absolutely say is that he (Emelianenko) was not and will not be cleared to fight in California. He is officially denied a license and that will stand for all of the United States of America.”

Aleks, I’m getting the sneaking suspicion that you are lying to us, and doing a really bad job of it. Couldn’t you at least think of something more plausible? The strangest comment of the interview, however, was this one:

“I have never taken painkillers, I am healthy, and I am preparing for my next fight.”

We have no idea what question he is answering here, because The Fight Network doesn’t tell us, but I’d like to assume it was something along the lines of, ‘how are you doing?’ I know that’s how I usually answer that question. I start by denying accusations that have not yet been made, then launch right into what I’ve been up to. You should try it. Really puts you on a whole new level of intimacy with the checker at the supermarket.

Another interesting thing in the big article on Aleks before Affliction Banned, Aleks stated at the beginning " to set the record straight I have never been to jail"

Fedor mentioned in an ariticle that Aleks did serve 3.5 years of a 5 year sentance. Sorry I don't have the link but it was on one of main MMA sites so others must have read it too.

If he lied about the jail thing, maybe he'd lie about the blood thing too and it sure looks like he did. If I was fighting Aleks in any country, I would agree to the bout only upon him passing a blood test. If it's Hep B, he's a fricken monster, that shit is contagious and lethal.

Fedor also said that Fedor could not fight because of a blood analysis problem during an interview with

He is supposed to fight in the 2nd Affliction show in early 2009. He was just in the US filming promos for it. I don't see why Affliction would invest in that if they weren't certain he'll get licensed.

I guess we'll see soon enough.

And the tat 'Gott Mit Uns', loosley translates to "I fuck ass".
KTFO- October 21, 2008 at 4:34 am
I don't think Aleks is lying, the problem is in the translation. In his statement 'late' should be replaced with the word 'hard', 'Visa' should be replaced with 'vaccination', 'fight' should be read 'infect others', and 'healthy should be replaced with 'contagious'.

Here you go Bennie ole boy, I think you owe me a blowjob from a ten dollar hooker or at least a tub job or Nah I'm glad to add something to an awesome site, if I am that is, you guys may of already known about this interview...but I wonder why it hasn't been included in any of the sections that have speculated on Aleks condition. As you'll see Fedor goes as far as to say it's something to do with a blood test problem, that should seal the deal as far as whether or not it's some type of blood disease.

Q: Your brother Aleksander was supposed to compete in the past Affliction event. What was the reason they would not let him in the ring? Many are afraid, that a similar situation will repeat during next event.

- A: I cannot comment in any way on this situation. Aleksander really was removed from competing because of some blood analyses. So I cannot really say anything.

lets let them take a picture so cage potato can have a caption competition and give the prize to one that is not in the least bit funny as usual.

Oh look, Aleks took out adspace for the Mittens Council on his back. That's their new slogan - "Got Mittuns?" It's in Lolcat.
