Alistair Overeem: “Brock Won’t Make It Out of the First Round”

Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion Alistair Overeem spoke to FightStar TV about his upcoming bout with Brock Lesnar, which will also mark the Dutchman’s debut inside the Octagon. According to Overeem, the former UFC Heavyweight Champion will not be able to get out of Round 1, despite being “a strong guy.”

The Demolition Man is currently in the middle of his training camp for UFC 141, which will take place on December 30, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Overeem via 1st round guillotine. The Reem has 19 MMA submission victories - 9 by guillotine, and 3 ADCC victories by guillotine. His strikes and clinch are devastating and he has the height/reach advantage. Brock has a long way to shoot for the takedown and I think he will get caught in a standing guillotine when trying to push the fight against the fence, maybe eat a few knees to the stomach and sternum before the Reem sinks it in nice a tight.

brock needs to keep out of range and then quickly close the distance to push overeem against the cage and hold him there for a round to gas him out (if he can overpower him). after overeem gets tired it will be shane carwin all over again, takedown in round 2 then submit.
