Knees to the groin aside, Alistair Overeem isn’t buying Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic‘s claims that he could not continue during last night’s Dream.6 bout. Cro Cop’s anguish looked pretty genuine, and Overeem’s knees seemed intent on finding his testicles, but Fighters Only reports that the Dutchman thinks dude was faking it in order to get out of a beating:
“Tonight I was kicking his ass, I destroyed him. …The first knee was in the crotch but the second was not. CroCop just didn’t want to fight anymore.”
“I think he underestimated me, but if he wants to fight again, I’ll fight him again. I’d like to finish him.”
Overeem was dominating the fight. That much seems apparent, though Cro Cop would have us believe that he was just biding his time and waiting for the right moment to stop getting his ass kicked.
But whatever you think of Cro Cop and his ethical code, that knee strike was clearly in the groin neighborhood. A cursory examination of the video evidence proves that much. Even if Overeem feels that he didn’t get him right on the buttons, as it were, he’s got to concede that Cro Cop might have been just a little extra sensitive in the testicular region at that point in the fight, seeing as how he’d already been nailed there. Nobody likes to see a fight end like that, especially the guy who leaves the ring with one of his testicles inside his body, but let’s give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.

Cro Cop should have read my name on the other blog I commented on. Alistair just proved my pointed that Cro Cop is a joke. Cro Cop is obviously a faker since he has no nuts to begin with and seems like he couldn't find a way to handle Overeem. Ex. the head kick Overeem caught and used to takedown Cro Cop, reminds me of the weak kick Frank Shamrock threw at Cung Le that got caught also and was used to take him down. Next time Mirko should just cup the nuts.

yea taking a Nut shot via lethal Overeem Knees definitely would make anyone quit. i know i'd be hurting. Also, if you watch many matches, where there were low blows, the fighter lose their rythm and are not quite the same anymore. Not to say Cro Cop was in the match..

Hey, Mirko got up from the first ball buster and continued to fight, Overeem obviously didn't give a shit about being a little more careful and so he nailed him again. He was def winning the fight but blew his opportunity to finish it by beating crocop within the rules so its his tough luck that it was declared a no contest ( I doubt overeem would have the same faker viewpoint if crocop squared him twice ) Overeem is def a force to be reckoned with but hearing these types of comments from him just makes me hope for a beatdown of his ass by Fedor sometime in the future, you would never have seen Fedor just lay there and get pounded on, he would have been slappin arm bars on Overeem from the get go till it was arm crackin time. Just as a side note, Crocop does absolutely terrible against black fighters! what the hell is with that anyways??

I just watched the fight on YouTube. Cro Cop was definately not winning that fight. But who knows what condition he was in after he started taking nut shots. The resolution on YouTube was not the best but it looks like Cro Cop took three knees to the junk and one foot to the junk. And that was right from the get go. That ref should be retrained or fired and Overeem should learn to fight like a man. Overeem was definately bigger, stronger and faster. If he didn't fight like a little girl he could have taken home a decision at least. He probably would have TKO'd Cro Cop from GNP. Cro Cop is lucky that he has no hair, Overeem would probably have been pulling it.
