(A Croat, an asshole and a Brazilian walk into a bar…)
Frank Mir weighed in 25 pounds heavier than opponent, Cro Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic at today’s UFC 119 weigh-ins, dispelling any rumors that he is over his loss to Brock Lesnar and he will drop to light heavyweight any time soon.
Making weight, Filipovic got the final stamp on his Indianapolis fight license, which made him breathe a sigh of relief after an eye injury he sustained earlier this week in training left the bout in jeopardy.
Shortly after he weighed in, Croatian news outlets who had been asked by the fighter to not release the photo until after he was given the go-ahead to face mir by the commission printed this shot of Mirko’s injury taken immediately after the eye poke occurred.
Amazing how much he has healed in less than five days.

(Amazing what the power of Stevia can do for healing.)
Every fighter on the card checked in at their respective weight limits, thus making all of their fights official for tomorrow night.
Check out the official weights and the replay of the weigh-ins after the jump.

commentsI have it on good authority, he has literally been rubbing his eyeball in 'roids all week. RIGHT in it.
I agree, accidents happen... but never should they happen to Sr. Cro Cop! I would be willing to let the guy off the hook if he had a paper towel roll tube shoved up his rear, a strand of barb wire fed all the way in until only about 5" remain out. Then have the paper towel roll pulled out...

what?
OUCH!
Accidents happen, butchers can expect getting their fingers cut here and there, carpenters can expect getting a hammer to the thumb here and there...MMA fighters can expect a poke in the eye here and there. You can only hope the accidents are rare and minor.
But on a side note, I believe CroCop is on Karma's shit list. Ever since he left Pride he's lost use of his signature leg kicks due to knee surgeries. He's even gotten KOed by the same technique he used to nail people in Pride (head kick). And as we can all recall, that head kick KO from Gonzaga really messed up Cro Cop's leg, contributing to it's loss of use. Finally, he did have some recent fights that ended to his favor in ways that weren't exactly clean. Case in point, the very nasty eye poke he gave Al Turk in the eye, and the fight wasn't stopped until Cro Cop won. And now he got a nasty eye poke in training. Thank god he's ok to fight, but if I was Cro Cop, I'd keep an eye open for Karma and her sexy red dress.
Anyway, those are my thoughts on it.
"Tell you like this, mhen. One spoonfull of stevia... BAM! Red-eye's gone with a quickness. Almost as quick as my hands, mhen."
