(Rogan was right. That DOES look like a goat’s vagina.)
It looks like Mike Pierce won’t be getting the bone he wanted the UFC to throw him for earning his third Octagon appearance last weekend at UFC 118 against Amilcar Alves.
Yesterday Pierce called out Thiago Alves via Twitter and "The Pitbull" accepted the Washington native’s challenge, however the UFC had other plans for the American Top Team fighter who will now face John Howard at UFC 124 in Montreal on December 11.
The news was first reported by MMAJunkie this afternoon and we were able to confirm with a source close to Alves.
The fight may well be Alves’ last stab at remaining at welterweight after he failed to make weight for the second time in his UFC career, this time for an important number two contendership match-up with Jon Fitch at UFC 117 last month that would determine who was next in line for a shot at the winner of the Georges St-Pierre vs. Josh Koscheck bout, which is also slated for the December 11 card.
Now Alves, who recovered from a life-threatening brain abnormality and corrective surgery and made it back to fight in the UFC in the past year, will try to rack up some wins at 170 or below to prove he belongs in the welterweight class and to earn another shot at UFC gold in the division.
Howard isn’t one to lay down and give someone a win, though so it should make for an entertaining scrap.
Losing for the first time in the UFC in August at the UFC Live on Versus 2: Jones vs. Matyushenko event against Jake Ellenberger, he went an impressive 4-0 in his first four UFC fights against some tough opponents including Chris Wilson, Tamdan McCrory and Dennis Hallman.

commentsUnprofessional assholes. Make your weight class or get the fuck out! Thiago never should have been given his title shot at WW given how many of his key fights took place outside of WW.
- With?

- 170 or above? still wouldn't make complete sense, because if he was winning above 170 he wouldn't be proving he belongs in the welterweight class.
Sorry, I just can't help but noticing these things when I read stuff. I'm sure if you read it to yourself before posting you could fix these types of things, if you care
Good opportunity for howard to beat a big name opponent, and a good opportunity for el pitból to prove his relevance.
Just get your weight under control. No one can cut 20lbs before a fight and not expect to be effected by it.
Haven't we been though this before?
Damn Son say it with me 171 !
