11 Famous Actors and Their Embarrassing Early Film Roles

And Here’s That Insane Spinning-Back-Kick KO From Last Night’s Episode of TUF… [VIDEO]

(Props: TheUltimateFighterFX)

The UFC was so damn proud of the Edson Barboza-esque knockout that Uriah Hall laid on Adam Cella during last night’s episode of TUF, that they actually made it available on YouTube along with some extended aftermath footage. And come to think of it, I can’t think of a knockout from the show’s history that was more impressive — or more brutal — than this one, especially considering how long Cella was unconscious. Cella did in fact go to the hospital for a CAT scan when he woke up, but it looks like the black dude in the ambulance that they kept showing in promos was footage from a different fight. (Could be the next one, actually.)

Hall’s win makes him an iron-clad front-runner for the $25,000 Knockout of the Season prize, and puts Team Sonnen up 2-0 in the preliminary round. A couple other notable moments from episode 3…

- While hanging out at the house, Hall makes reference to the fact that Tor Troeng is a “professional cooker.” Josh Samman points out that the actual term for that is “chef.” Hall feels belittled in the exchange, and vows to go after Samman next. It’s such a thin line between life and death.

- Even before the Hall vs. Cella fight happens, Team Sonnen decides that they’re sending in their #6 pick Kevin Casey to fight next. Bubba McDaniel continues to lobby for a fight against Casey, and is once again overlooked, as Team Sonnen selects Casey vs. Collin Hart for next week’s matchup. At this point, it seems like Team Sonnen is intentionally keeping McDaniel on ice just to mess with his head — and it’s definitely working.

Team Sonnen
Luke Barnatt – quarterfinalist, defeated Gilbert Smith
Uriah Hall – quarterfinalist, defeated Adam Cella
Zak Cummings
Tor Troeng
Jimmy Quinlan
Kevin Casey
Kelvin Gastelum

Team Jones

The most brutal KO in TUF history was when Brandão hendo'd that other kid in his fight to get into the house. Amazing flying elbow.

@erikkk: they must have Jackson on speed dial. "Get in there, you wanna lose Nike looking slow like you lost bud light looking drunk?!?"
cman- February 6, 2013 at 1:14 pm
Top thing I keep noting is Chael talking and jones laughing. But agree, talent pool is way better.

ME:Uriah Hall is a pretty good "kicker-puncher guy".
MY ROOMMATE:Don't you mean fighter?
ME:That's it mother fucker. You and me...right now!
Mr_Misanthropy- February 6, 2013 at 11:10 am
What, no good bad and ugly? I'm relying on your recaps to keep me informed.

ps- It was a good clean KO with a flashy technique but I was way more unsettled a few seasons back where the one guy got his nose caved in and then later another dude had his jaw shattered.
smellypiratehooker- February 6, 2013 at 10:56 am
That video up there really doesn't do the KO justice. When I seen Cella on the ground, I immediately thought of that prison fight video where buddy is getting knees dropped on his head and the death groan that followed. Note quite as bad as that, but definately hard to watch.

Fair enough, maybe I spoke too soon. Some that came to mind though.. anderson/fryklund, evans/salmon, belfort/lindland, couple of tank abbots, and that black dude in the gi that threw like 20 unblocked elbows from crucifix. All of those were pretty damn scary. I just looked at this one and was like.. "his limbs didn't stiffen up in a grotesque manner, and he's not convulsing.. not the worst"
The12ozCurls- February 6, 2013 at 11:06 am
"that back dude in the gi" was Gary FUCKING Goodridge.

Your welcome :)

It wasn't the actual KO that was bad, although it was an awesome spinning hook kick. It was the "labored" breathing of Cella that made it so brutal. Sure there have been awesomer KO's but not too many that make you feel so fuckin' mortal.
2DaDeath- February 6, 2013 at 10:19 am
This is definitely the best season in a long time. the production value and quality of fighters is great and you can't help liking Chael. Jones seems pretty douchey, in fact. Can't wait for next episode!
2DaDeath- February 6, 2013 at 10:13 am
@ arm:
Took him a while which was what was so devastating about the ko. Cella was sounding like a retarded cow, basically.
ArmFarmer- February 6, 2013 at 10:07 am
To be clear, I'm not hating on the ko. It was an awesome kick and awesome ko.. I'm hating on Dana claiming it was one of the most brutal ko's in the history of the sport. Might be a good topic for a top 10 list article. Also, I didn't see it live, just saw it here. How long did it take for him to wake up?
TheCrooner- February 6, 2013 at 9:35 am
That KO actually made me feel weird afterwards. Pretty brutal and pretty awesome.
ArmFarmer- February 6, 2013 at 9:30 am
Getting real sick of Dana's TUF hype.. this was not a particularly devistating KO. It was a sweet kick, but the ko itself didn't fit Dana's "one of the most devastating ko's in not only the show but the entire sport". The definition of a ko is that someone gets hit in the head so hard the go unconscious.. that being said, being the most devastating one of those ever is a lofty claim. I can think of a dozen off the top of my head that were more traumatizing than that one. But maybe I'm just a hater.
QMighty- February 6, 2013 at 10:43 am
You have to see it live, the video doesnt do it justice... and didnt dana say it was a top brutal knockout that he saw?
Rear Naked Poke- February 6, 2013 at 8:48 am
Wife was watching Dance Moms, I came into the room changed it just to catch the last 30 sec of round 1, saw KO, traumatized her, walked out like a boss.
teep- February 6, 2013 at 8:44 am
I am concerned that Jones corner does not help the fighters very much during the fights. I even heard Jon say, "everyone is yelling to much, he can't hear us." So yell louder and tell the fighters on the bench to shut up!
cman- February 6, 2013 at 8:36 am
Jones has GOT to be going insane down 2-0. Wonder if Greg Jackson is being flown in to remind him to get some fans.
towelie- February 6, 2013 at 10:24 am
if Greg Jackson is on the new Spike show with Randy as a coach, then i doubt DFW would allow him on the show again.
enrikk- February 6, 2013 at 9:48 am
@cman - Well he did get in there quickly to check on Cella afterwards...
doowm- February 6, 2013 at 7:33 am
Had my 16 yr old worried that "he might die?" Had to tell him that Cella would b ok in a few minutes after his brain reformatted!
