Britain’s The Sun confirmed that the UFC is headed back to London for UFC 95 in February, and they’re adding weight to the rumor that it might have Anderson Silva vs. Chuck Liddell as its main event.
SunSport understands Middleweight champion Anderson Silva, 33, has been asked to appear on the card, with a potential bout with light heavyweight star Chuck Liddell already being mooted.
Dana White said Silva was “flipping out” about the negative response from fans and media types to his performance against Patrick Cote at UFC 90. Going up a weight class to pummel a former champ might be enough to silence those critics for good. The bout also has enough star power and intersecting story lines to make it a huge draw.
If it does happen, it’s a tough fight for Liddell. Even if he beats Silva, his detractors will just say it was due to the size advantage. If he loses — a real possibility against the world’s best pound-for-pound fighter — it becomes harder to ignore the call of retirement. Then again, after the loss to Rashad Evans you have to wonder how many interesting fights are left for him at 205. This could easily be his last moment in the spotlight. At least it’s a big one.

commentsI think that would be a great fight and not a cat and mouse affair with the Ice Man being the mouse...
any thoughts??
Anderson Silva should be used to fight the toughest, most exciting fights he can have, not one w/ Chuck just to get large numbers & please the UK fans b/c Chuck got hurt and had to pull out of the last UK card. Silva should fighting people like Machida, who is pretty much equal to him in skills & style, or even Forrest who would bring a standing and ground game, or Rashad depending on the outcome w/ Forrest. Or let Silva fight GSP after the Penn fight, b/c win or lose for GSP, that would also be a great stylistic matchup. And right now, Bisping is knocking on the MW door and even Maia. Let Anderson fight guys who will test his mettle; & it's not that Chuck couldn't knock him out, it's the liklihood of it happening due to his recent showings or lack thereof and Anderson's true all around game outclassing Chucks's, mostly due to Chuck having forgone using his ground and kickboxing skills for quite some time now. He shouldn't start testing them out on again on someone like Silva.

"Liddel cant beat the homeboys." I'll have to check the record book on this one, but I'm not sure if I really care.
I would love to see Brock get handled by a MW/LHW. Proves that size dont matter that much when it comes to fighting if you have the skills.
Chuck beat Vernon White, Kevin Randleman, and Alistair Overeem
People would pay for this kind of main event attraction.
In regards to the Fedor war, I agree with mayhem420...Fedor hasn't fought any legitimate names in years, and he's over rated. Fedor just got OWNED in a sambo match by someone you have most likely never even heard of this past weekend. If he can destroy Arlovski, then you might have a little bit to talk about, but I doubt that will happen.

"Don't be scared homie!"
thiago silva however would be a very exciting fight, expecially once he deals with machida.
if not him then maybe rampage.
anyhow, unless he is willing to take a run at the belt at 205, there will not be much left in the way of talent for him to fight an exciting fight for fans.
I've always liked Chuck, but he doesn't deserve this fight, nor can he win it, but he is getting "the hook up" from his boy.
Silva and GSP would be the sickest fight possible.
Wow did I hit a raw nerve?
I never said he (Fedor) wasnt skilled just pointed out that he has not fought anyone other than Timmay who was ranked in the past 4 or 5 years. I also did list his last what 7 fights.... How did I NOT bring up his career? I actually pointed that out to you.
Its not like I even brough the guy up you did... in an artical that had NOTHING to do with Fedor in the first place. Just relax and dont be afraid of the truth homie.
No need to get all cranky and bent outta shape. Take a deep breath and go take a shit or eat some fiber that might help work some thing out.
.... anyway, you should really try to make a point other than calling other people names. Fedor is a powerhouse but MMA tends to be a What have you done lately type of business and until his managers allow him to fight the best he can't prove he is the best.
