Anderson Silva appeared in the latest episode of the Brazilian “Sports Spectacular” series over the weekend as part of a promotional appearance for one of his sponsor’s brands, Amazoo Açaí.
During the segment, Silva fought by the Amazon tribe’s “huka-huka” rules, losing when his back was taken by his opponent, but when the tables were turned and he was allowed to employ his Brazilian jiu-jitsu techniques, the UFC middleweight fighter put on a submission clinic for the Kamayura people.

According to one native, his people begin training their future warriors to fight when they turn 13. Imagine what they could do with a few months of sprawl training. I wonder how many huka-huka stylists we’ll see in the UFC in coming years now that the promotion has committed to bring more shows to Brazil each year.
I was surprised that they actually agreed to drink the açaí out of a box. You would assume they would have burned it and accused Anderson of being a devil of some sort who was trying to poison them with his potion.
Never mind; come to think of it maybe that was just part of a movie I saw once.
On the bright side, it looks like Anderson’s shoulder has healed up nicely. Chael will be happy and will likely have something to say about his new set of training partners.
