During Dana White’s brief apology tour following his use of the word that starts with “f” and rhymes with baguette in a recent video blog, he made two things abundantly clear: 1) he never meant to offend or attack gay people, and 2) he totally meant to offend and attack Loretta Hunt. Amazingly, point #1 seemed to be good enough to get people to mostly forget about point #2, but now the Association for Women in Sports Media (the AWSM, if you’re nasty) is calling on White to apologize for calling Hunt a bunch of ugly words.
"This is disheartening because this behavior is unacceptable," (AWSM President) Jenni Carlson wrote. "It establishes a hostile work environment not only for Loretta but all women who cover the UFC. We cannot accept that any female sports journalist would have to work in an environment of intimidation or a hostile workplace. … It is a mystery to me that a man who is always seeking more coverage and exposure for his sport would disenfranchise some of the very people who are covering, sponsoring and watching his sport — women.”
There’s been no response from the UFC or White as of yet, but we imagine that after an intern informed him of this request from the AWSM, Dana White looked up from his buffalo chicken pizza and replied: “What have I told you guys about messing with me while I’m eating? At least come up with something that sounds believable. AWSM. Like that’s a real thing.”
Seriously though, I am not optimistic about them getting that apology. Hunt declined to say whether she thought White should apologize, so it seems like this is being pursued without her directive.
The bizarre thing is that White was so concerned about accidentally offending one group of people, but has so far shown no remorse at all for purposely offending a much larger group. Maybe if the AWSM had jumped on this as fast as GLAAD did they’d have a better shot. Something tells me Dana only has one apology per year in him, and he already used it. Yushin Okami already has dibs on next year, since chances are he still won’t have a title shot by then.

That would definitely follow suit with Dana's other strong-handed tactics. I'd love it for him to do it out of principle. Teach one of these fucking organizations a lesson that sometimes your voice doesn't mean shit when people can see through your crap.
Gender shouldn't mask one's competency. If the person sucks as a reporter, it's about their abilities. That's what Dana attacked but did it with a poor choice of verbal punctuation.
Bottom-line. Lorretta is a shitty reporter. Not a shitty female reporter.
Once you piss off even ONE woman, Dana - you're fucked. It doesn't even matter if your opinion had merit, women look past that to make it like you're attacking the ENTIRE gender.

At least us "trailer park fans" are intelligent enough to be able to differentiate between someone personaly attacking a family member, and a group of people going on a warpath for someone they have never met nor have any type of relationship with at all, and from the sound of it never even had any communication with whatsoever, simply because they are the same sex.
