Bummer of the day, you guys: The welterweight scrap between Anthony Johnson and Matt Brown — which was scheduled to lead off the televised card of the TUF 9 finale (June 20th, Las Vegas) — won’t be happening. The following message was recently posted on Rumble’s Myspace Page:
Well ain’t this some lime juice in the tobacco. Johnson/Brown had "Fight of the Night" written all over it. Most likely, the other scheduled welterweight matchup between Chris Lytle and Kevin Burns will be promoted to the main card, which is a small consolation — though if Lytle loses, he would tie Tank Abbott‘s record for most losses in the UFC (10), so I guess that would be kind of historic. Minus Johnson vs. Brown, the TUF 9 finale lineup looks like this:
MAIN CARD
Diego Sanchez vs. Clay Guida
Welterweight TUF finalist vs. welterweight TUF finalist (TBA. Early prediction: Damarques Johnson vs. David Faulkner)
Lightweight TUF finalist vs. lightweight TUF finalist (TBA. Early prediction: Ross Pearson vs. Andre Winner)
Nate Diaz vs. Joe Stevenson
Chris Lytle vs. Kevin Burns
UNDERCARD (none of these fights are currently listed on UFC.com)
Tomasz Drwal vs. Mike Ciesnolevicz
Melvin Guillard vs.Thiago Tavares Guillard vs. Gleison Tibau
Brad Blackburn vs. Edgar Garcia
Other matches between TUF 9 castmembers (TBA)
If Matt Brown gets a replacement opponent for the card, we’ll let you know.

good call, classic. Condit needs another fight ASAP; he needs a win in the UFC. Not saying a fight against MB would be a lock for him, but it’d be a hell of a good scrap.
too bad about AJ but of course something had to go wrong with a free card that’s this stacked. It’s still a very good main event for a TUF finale, tho.
