Anti-MMA Protests to Be Featured on Sunday's Episode of 'The Simpsons'

As a white skinhead, it's no surprise that Homer Simpson would be into MMA. What's surprising is that The Simpsons will be devoting an entire episode to the sport this Sunday (8/7c). Is it a desperate attempt by the 21-year-old series to generate interest among young males, most of whom moved on to Family Guy a long time ago? Quite possibly! But hey, score another one for the mainstream acceptance of cage-fighting. TV.com has the synopsis of this Sunday's episode, which is titled "The Great Wife Hope":
Believe it or not, that's exactly how Lina Kvokov got booked to fight Kim Couture last year. No word yet if the promoter will be a thinly-veiled Dana White-parody, but FiveOuncesofPain hears that Dancing With the Stars's Chuck Liddell will make a cameo in the episode, hopefully to tell Marge that she's an killjoy idiot who should find something else to protest, before having sex with her in a nightclub bathroom.
So do any of you still watch this show? Is Maggie talking yet? Did Burns and Smithers ever consummate their relationship?

I don't think I've watched a new episode of this show in 10 years, but I may tune in for this one just for the sheer nostalgia.
richorama Says:
frist!!11!!one!eleven!!!
PurplePickle Says:
The last time I cared about this show I also looked forward to the week's new episodes of the X-Files and Seinfeld.
However, it would be cool if Wanderlei made a cameo and soccer kicked the shit out of Lisa.
MyFightWiffaCheeto Says:
I have been Tivo-ing the newer episodes but haven't watched any yet.
Regardless it's legendary and the greatest show ever and Fowlkes you fucking love it too so don't act like you're a crass mouth-breathing Family Guy fan. You've interlaced Simpsons Jokes into your writing here many a time.
I'll be sure to watch said Tivo-ed episodes when I'm really drunk and coming home from the bars.

I'm waiting for the South Park episode where Cartman takes on Token and just lays on him with that big belly.

Smitty Says:
Yes guys, we are getting older......deal with it! I'm with you Cheeto, that show is legendary, and the best adult cartoon ever created. I'll have to remember to set my DVR for this.
rockhuddy Says:
I'll watch it on Hulu later if you guys tell me it was good.
reddog Says:
Cheeto, family guy has twice the intellect that the simpsons has had in 21 seasons. I once owned a "Dont have a cow man!" tshirt. Witty. Simpsons were definitely funny...in the mid 90s. D'oh
rampageisgod Says:
Family Guy is hilarious but for the past couple of seasons Brian has been up his own ass and it's starting to get annoying. Nothing will ever compare to the Simpsons.
Walrus Says:
The new episodes of the Simpson's are god awful.
And they have been for a couple of years now.
ArmFarmer Says:
Family guy and intellect have no business being in the same sentence. Family guy is about as witty and well thought out as the last dump I took. It's just one interchangeable gag after another. Did anyone see the family guy movie? That was proof that if you try and drag family guy past a 20 minute episode it quickly becomes a train wreck. I'm not gonna lie I think it's funny and it makes me laugh, but the writing is garbage. There's rarely a joke that doesn't start with "this is worse than the time.." "this reminds me of the time.." and then it cuts to a 20 second skit completely unrelated to the plot. South park hit the nail on the head with the idea balls and manatee tank. If you haven't seen south park's cartoon wars, find it and watch it.
agentsmith Says:
I hope they do another one where Homer becomes an "ultimate fighter," and fights either Butterbean or Bob Sapp in Japan in the "Mega-Hulk Tournament" (see what I did there)? Then he can fight a 7-foot tall Mongolian dude named Dong Han Chow in the final. They already had Bob Sapp in an episode years ago, they can do this.
WagePotato Says:
DAMN! I just saw that pic of Homer. That's pretty fuckin gross!
