Awkward!: Inside MMA Isn’t Afraid to Make Everyone Uncomfortable

I can’t help but wonder whose idea it was to have new WEC featherweight champ Mike Brown on Inside MMA and then ask the panel — which consisted of Brown, Dave "Pee Wee" Herman, and oddsmaker Nick Kalikas — who the best fighter in the WEC is.  You know Brown’s going to say it’s him, and you also know the other two guys are going to want to say it’s Urijah Faber, thus implying that Brown got lucky when he beat Faber for the belt at WEC 36.  And you know that when this happens it will create a palpably uncomfortable situation for everyone.  And yet they do it anyway.

Say what you will, I have no choice but to admire that move.  It’s kind of a mini ethics test, because we’d know if one of them said Brown it would only be because he was sitting a few feet away and not because they really believed it.  But honesty ruled the day, and as usually happens in real life, awkwardness followed with it.

That cop is an ass (THAT cop, not all cops). It was a cool throw, yeah, but the guy didn't even see the cop coming, it was a sucker throw. That and the dumb bastard lost his temper and threw the only person in the arena who was trying to keep that other douche FROM FIGHTING A GIRL!!! Way to go asshole.

The only thing I'm not digging about the new site is the fact that everytime I open it, a couple of articles down it has 2 videos about these cats on this treadmill.. And I can't stop the videos, or close them, or anything, they're just playing in a full size-embed with no controls.. It's weird.. You guys really need to fix the coding issues that have arisen from your so-called "Regular Maintenance"..

I really don't like Dave Herman, and I haven't even seen him fight yet. You shouldn't be a cocky asshole in MMA until you've beaten quality competition.

I like how that whole section of the audience isn't paying attention to the cage at all. Apparently street fights are that much more interesting, because you know they didn't all see those two roll down the aisle. They all thought they missed a street fight, and were that much more interested in it, rather hearing statements from the new HW champ of cage fights.
