We just had to go and complain that Elite XC and CBS weren’t doing enough to hype their Oct. 4 event. Then came “Hits & Chicks.” Now it’s “the greatest mixed martial arts show in Florida history” featuring “undefeated Miami street fighting legend” Kimbo Slice. Oh, and just in case you were worried that his street fighting days weren’t being well-represented enough, they made sure to include plenty of clips. I don’t know if they’re referring to him as undefeated in MMA, which is true, or undefeated in street fighting, which is not (Sean Gannon, anyone?), but either way you get the point. They stop just short of showing Kimbo working out with the Milf Hunter, presumably because they had to give Ken Shamrock his obligatory three seconds of screen time.
When it comes to selling tickets, I guess you hype whatever you got, however you can.

commentsI cant really remember the fights clearly on that card apart from the two title fights but in general production value it was average at best, for free MMA though it was a cut above the rest.
shes a fuckin beast!
not every organization can be as strong as the ufc, so who gives a fuck. without the smaller organizations, how would these people work their way up? everybody starts an amateur.. with the exception of lesnar
It's also been said a million times that EliteXC should focus on the actual talent they have and not go with an over-rated hype machine like Kimbo.
IMO I dont particularly mind the Kimbo Slice hype machine, I know it's all BS anyway but im pretty sure the fights leading upto the main event drew like at least a 3.0 or something?
That's alot of people watching the up and coming guys, how many people watched Saturday Night Fights 2 with no Kimbo but a few decent names? Alot less iirc.
A+
