MMA Fighter Challenges People to Punch Him in the Face, Everyone Fails

Bellator Planning April 6 Event In Windsor, Ontario, Canada

Windsor, Ontario MMA fans will likely only have to wait a few more months for their next live fight fix.

CagePotato.com has learned that Bellator Fighting Championships have penciled in an event for April 6 in Windsor, Ontario and that the event is likely to take place at Caesar’s Windsor Casino, just across the Ambassador bridge from Detroit.

The Chicago-based promotion had originally planned on holding a show on April 27 back at Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario, north of Toronto, but were unable to secure the date as the commission is already slated to oversee another event  in Belleville, Ontario that night.

Although no bouts have been announced for the card, it’s likely that Bellator will use a number of its contracted fighters from Great Fight North including Ryan Ford, Cory MacDonald and Nordine Taleb. Chris Horodecki is another likely candidate for the card, having fought for Bellator on one of its two other Ontario cards, as is Ali Mokdad, an up-and-coming Windsor-based Lebanon-born lightweight who we have learned is in talks with the Viacom-owned promotion.

The event will be the second one hosted by Caesar’s Windsor. MFC 29 took place at the casino on April 8, 2011 — almost a year to the day of the yet-to-be-named Bellator event.

We’ll have more on the card and the event details as they become available.

kellyman Says: - No I have never known anyone who has a Neilson Box. Just pink boxes, and on occasion a brown one too I suppose...

@Mofo Says: - Spike had the same, or better numbers re-broadcasting old footage vs the UFC for free. That is what caught my attention right away. Tells me that half the UFC fans either aren't that into it to watch the live shows, or simply Zuffa marketing dropped the fucking ball.
.
Also tells me that many are waiting for Bellator to come online with Viacom vis-a-vis Spike - but in some cases don't yet know it. And when that day comes, its not going to take much to displace the whopping numbers Zuffa charges for that fucked up PPV.
.
Looks like we have a year to haggle here amongst ourselves over who sucks worse, but the lynchpin is that Zuffa has borrowed and expended enormous gobs of cash to get where they are, and might see their inroads wiped out fast by its coming competition. Competition that is on the cheap for what they have put together. Might want to call it a better business model, come late.
.
Anyone willing to go out on the limb and list the fighters (big names) who will have started the fall from top ten ranking inside the UFC and might be released over the next year or two?

Also, ratings are made up numbers that no one understands, so most of us take them at face value. Do you know anyone with a Nielsen box, and do they watch the exact same shit as you?

Well to be fair that's a pretty ho-hum article about some predictable, biased, and nonsense griping from Spike. It's nonsense in that when UFC would have a fight on Spike everyone knew; now that UFC is on FX there's a little less awareness, it's a change to everyone's monkey habits, and as DFW says "this is a transition period".
.
That said, I'm actually gonna start typing MMA News into google more often myself, now that you mention it. Things are definitely a bit slow around here.

I have been so stuck on CP, that I finally looked at "MMA NEWS" from Google news and saw all kinds of fucking news stories missed, skipped, or bypassed.
.
WTF is going on with this cheapie fucking outfit called Cage Potato...you already know what I think.

Boy, that's not an impressive line up. Horodecki is always good, but even with my love blinders on, Bellator needs some talent acquisition work.
