BJ Penn pre-Edgar Fluke was the most dominant lightweight in UFC history. He made Diego Sanchez look like a fucking amateur at a time when Diego Sanchez was making EVERY OTHER LIGHTWEIGHT IN THE DIVISION look like a fucking amateur. To say that BJ Penn doesn’t deserve an immediate rematch would be like saying that GSP wouldn’t deserve an immediate rematch if Fraggle-Fuck beats him. If BJ’s only beef is that one judge scored it 50-45 then I got to agree with him. It was a really close fight, but that is a little much. But I don’t think Frankie was really trying to bitch out on the rematch. I agree with Kid Meat Lips, BJ is prob just trying to hype the fight a little. He is fucked though, trying to follow Chael’s act.

Setting personal issues aside, BJ kept the center of the octagon for practically the entire fight and also landed the more impressive strikes in the form of multiple left hooks. It was a close fight, but BJ should have won IMO. Because no one really gave Frankie a shot and the kid is so likable, I think everyone sort of jumped on his bandwagon when he didn’t get murdered right off the bat. I hope the rematch ends decisively.

Yes I’m am an avid BJ nut-hugger. I will point that out right now, but when you look at the actual stats from the fight, BJ out struck Edgar until round 4 where edgar landed 1-2 more strikes, and round 5 where Edgar obviously landed about 40% more. 10-9, 10-9, draw, draw, 9-10. With that said I’d rather watch Edgar lose his belt to Maynard then see BJ take it from him. That fight was agonizing with how boring it was though.

I think Frankie clearly won the first fight. BJ just kept his right foot planted and tried to counter every time Frankie came in. If he attacked the way he did against Florian, Sherk, etc. he should have won. All that said….GO FRANKIE!!!

I doubt Frankie Edgar really cares about comments made from BJ. All I know is that I watched him control the pace of the fight pretty much the whole 5 rounds, though Penn did land some shots, Edgar landed more and he had two takedowns. We all heard Penn’s cornermen to take him down but Penn either didn’t listen or was overconfident that he was winning the fight. Either way, Edgar won.

I like Penn but Edgar brought the fight and earned respect as a result. I’m kinda hoping he wins again so BJ can grow more as a real man and own it up to not being as good.

In which way do we think BJ will violate the new CP bans first – coming up with another rib injury story post fight, or blaming his loss on his fire god, Pele?
