BJ Penn is a douche, but you can't overlook the fact that he's probably the most talented fighter to ever step in to the cage. The loss he had against Matt Hughes he was totally dominating until he broke a rib in the 3rd (2nd?) round and god pummeled by Matt.

Now GSP again is a totally different kind of fighter with great stand-up and wrestling, but if this goes to the ground GSP could be in trouble and that's why he's spending so much time in Brazil.

All this said UFC is right about one thing, this being the most anticipated MMA fight in a long time.

"Baby" Jay Penn is very talented and nowhere near the same fighter he was a few years ago. Same should be said for GSP.

I think the weight/strength difference will be too much for BJ.

I think they are both douchebags, but that being said, I got BJ by 2nd round sub, or maybe GSP by 3rd round French Canadian accent.

I have to agree with "Terrance And Phillip". GSP was dominant over Fitch ( whom I have much more respect for now). He's destroyed Hughes twice (and I think was winning the first round of their first fight, one second left, one rookie mistake). Certainly wasn't repeated. Koscheck (dominant wrestler outwrestled)... couldn't impose his will. Hughes (dominant wrestler and ground and pound... didn't mean sh*t) Still couldn't take him down and land anything effective. Jon Fitch (excellent wrestler and tough b*st*ard)... took him the distance, my hats off to him, but also a pretty one sided fight. Frank Trigg... so one-sided it was unreal. Sean Sherk... shark bait himself. Matt Serra... black belt in jiu-jitsu... look how well that served him in his rematch. Karo Parisian... world class judo artist. What's BJ gonna do if he loses to St. Pierre? Challenge Silva next? GSP learns from his mistakes, and hasn't repeated them. BJ Penn dropped down to fight smaller guys of lesser calibre. GSP is an excellent striker, his submissions and bjj are vastly improved, his takedown defense is incredible. Maybe there's some miniscule odds-affecting stat that I'm overlooking which would somehow affect the end result of this fight. Cockiness and arrogance is your own worst enemy in the fight game, and BJ's just basking in it now. Can't wait for January! GSP vs. Penn II is not a superfight, though it's a good one. Anderson Silva vs. GSP is a superfight. Here's to hoping!

Well since then GSP lost to Matt Serra also...So I thiunk it could be said that both fighters have improved drastically since their last showdown. I pick BJ to win By decision....he is working hard now, and has way more talent then GSP.

I think GSP has the edge in this one. BJ is good, on PPV and from the girlie on the couch next to me, but I can't see him winning this one.

I don't see how you can say BOTH men have improved ALOT since the first go around. Especially given the fact that BJ has to have a mirror on himself when he pleasures himself and makes love to... ah whatever he makes love to(prob men being as afeminate as he is) and swears he is the greatest fighter. In short, Penn's ego is too big to "learn" from someone else.

I have been waiting for this rematch for a long ass time.
