Steroids in MMA
Which MMA Fighter Will Test Positive For Steroids Next?

Bob Sapp Outweighs Bobby Lashley By 66.8 Pounds (!!!)

(We’ve always said that Bob Sapp is a modern day Christ figure. At last, photographic proof courtesy of Combat Lifestyle.)

Bob Sapp weighed in at an absurd 322.2 pounds (or roughly 2 1/3 Miguel Torres‘s) for tonight’s "Ultimate Chaos" main event against Bobby Lashley in Biloxi, Mississippi.  Lashley came in at a puny 255.4 pounds, so maybe he has the flu or something.  This begs the question, will a nearly 67-pound advantage be enough to negate Lashley’s athletic and conditioning-related advantages, or does it just mean it will take both Sapp’s cornermen, along with a few sturdy volunteers from the audience, to carry him back to the locker room after he’s been choked out?  All we’ll say is, lift with your legs, boys.

Full weigh-in results for tonight’s event after the jump.  Just out of curiosity, anybody watching this live?

I just watched the Atencio fight. Is that why full tilt is now banned from UFC 100?

kinda hard to tap when you're nailed to some 2x4.
seanest.1990- June 28, 2009 at 1:43 am
There's one flaw with the argument that Bob Sapp is a "modern day Christ figure."
Jesus didn't tap.

Is anyone else intrigued by the thought of two Miguel Torres' and a Miguel Torres midget fighting Sapp at the same time?
AntonG420- June 27, 2009 at 11:30 pm
I said it a couple days ago and I was dead on, sapp taps from strikes rd1!!
Juice- June 27, 2009 at 10:35 pm
You say Sapp is a joke.. You don't know anything, you are just some dong.
just some dong- June 27, 2009 at 10:12 pm

i hate when fighters say they're gonna stand and bang.. and then they dont.
BuckWild- June 27, 2009 at 8:51 pm
Bob Sapp is just a niche fighter. He can win if one of his early haymakers lands.
Juice- June 27, 2009 at 8:44 pm
Lashley forgot to mention me in his post-fight interview.. asshole. That's the last time I lend him my physique.
Smackdaddiest1- June 27, 2009 at 8:42 pm
What did Bob mean when he said Lashley got him in the eye? Did he mean he got poked or punched?

The side of his head had two big ass knots on it, I saw those, but I didn't see on any of the replays where he could have gotten poked.
I Know Nothing- June 27, 2009 at 8:35 pm
wow, Lashley via tapout due to G&P. So sad!
Soda Popinski- June 27, 2009 at 8:35 pm

Nobody is saying Attencio is a world beater. He showed alot of heart though, surprising for a t-shirt guy. Give the guy a break, it's not like he's claiming to be the second coming of Anderson Silva, he just wanted to get his feet wet and good for him for having the balls. He sure exceeded my expectations, and many others as well. Now lets watch Bob Sapp get his ass whooped...
Smackdaddiest1- June 27, 2009 at 8:21 pm
Not knocking Tom's efforts at all,he showed alot of heart surviving that first round, but everyone just acts like he came out and whipped the guys ass from pillar to post.
BackbaconBilly- June 27, 2009 at 8:18 pm
Tom gave a good fight, can't knock his efforts.
meanfinger- June 27, 2009 at 8:18 pm
give tom some respect man.. blackjack dealers are sneaky!
meanfinger- June 27, 2009 at 8:17 pm
thats funny.. they both tried workin the mic like they used to in pro wrestling.
BackbaconBilly- June 27, 2009 at 8:17 pm
if lashley can survive the 1st minute, then he will probably take the beast down.
Smackdaddiest1- June 27, 2009 at 8:16 pm
Yeah kupo he came back and won the fight cause the other guy gassed out, impressive how the guy pussed out and quit.

Tom should be proud of himself. Now he's 2-0 and the t-shirt guy who almost got beat by a blackjack dealer making his mma debut
kupo- June 27, 2009 at 8:13 pm
Smackdaddiest1, yeah Atencio got caught got a couple times then came back and beat the shit out of the guy. Just goes to show how tough Tom is. Who gives a fuck if he got knocked on his ass if he fucking comes back and wins the fight jackass.
averagejoe- June 27, 2009 at 8:13 pm
Shocked you're not liveblogging. I've recently been converted to Tom Atencianity.
Smackdaddiest1- June 27, 2009 at 8:13 pm
Did Yvel just say that Marvin Eastman was a good wrestler? lmao
