(He’s not here to make friends, people.)
Following up on appearances by Georges St. Pierre and Frank Mir, SportsCenter also spoke with UFC heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar to get his thoughts on the Carwin-Mir interim title fight at UFC 111 this weekend. MMAFighting.com passes along some quotes from his appearance and, I know this is going to sound weird, but he was actually kind of a jerk about a few things.
On Saturday night’s fight:
"That was a business decision that the UFC had to make. Really, that belt is a make-believe belt to satisfy the company and to satisfy the people in the heavyweight division. I’m still the heavyweight champion."
On Mir’s pseudo-death threat:
"What’s said outside of the Octagon is all purely entertainment. I dislike Frank — there isn’t an opponent in the Octagon that I really truly like. That’s the battle of competition. I’m not a grudge-holder, but the first and foremost thing to me is, when I get in that Octagon I respect no one. And that’s the bottom line for me."
On Mir’s evaluation of Carwin as a better version of Lesnar:
"If Shane Carwin is a better version of Brock Lesnar, then the fight’s over in the first 30 seconds — I feel bad for Frank. Frank has a history of putting his foot in his mouth and let’s just see what happens Saturday night. I’m anxious to fight either one of those opponents. Both of them I’ve got some history with. … I can sit back and watch and let these guys fight over who wants to come after Brock Lesnar, the UFC heavyweight champion."
Oh, good. For a second I was worried that he might get all the way through his ESPN appearance without referring to himself in the third person. It really sucks when that happens. No matter how many times you remind yourself to talk about yourself as if you are a completely separate entity, somehow it slips your mind and only later when you’re soaking in the tub, enjoying a warm glass of whole milk and listening to the soothing sounds of Miles Davis do you realize that you completely forgot. Then you really feel like a jackass.

commentsI'm not a Brock hater, per say, but he really really needs a beating at this point. A Brandon Vera type beating.. Maybe we can get Jones up to heavyweight and handle this.
i want to know who to send this care package to, funny shit lads.
You are permantly on my 'people to pay attention to' list...and that's a short list for me. Funny shit...funny but true...that's the best kind of sarcasm; no doubt about it..
ghostboner's on that list too.
UFCfan, 831 son, and Curtis Sample are on a different list...but I haven't heard much of anything from any of them lately...
To say that 11 knockouts and 0 loss' Shane Carwin and always impressive former champion Frank Mir are fighting for a make-believe belt is a little insulting to the sport in general. These two mother-fuckers don't care about any interim, next-in-line, something-on-your-waist belt. They want Brock Lesnar, whether that's for personal or professional reasons. They want that fight. All this fight does is make that future a reality.
I hope the former WWE superstar and current champion/douchebag is ready to face a threat like he's never experienced before - regardless of which 12-fight+ competitor he faces.
Of course if LESS-nar gets to aggressive and lays hands on him...hey, what the fuck, dude would just be protecting himself right? We can only hope....
I know one thing for sure, it sure will be fun watching his nuthugging steroid-headed fans cry over his ass beating.
Agreed, Cant fuckin stand Lesnar period. Also I'd pay to see that(Carwin/Lesnar face-off) Oh wait, guess we probably will be :P, Dana will lead him to the cage on his leash. Also hopefully Shane is shoving his damn xxxxl hands down lesnar;s cock swallowin throat instead of shovin to the mat...
@dogpt3, STFU & GTFOff Lesnars nads. Its annoying
@Rex13, FUcking Hilarious!!
very well said!
He has yet to fight a young, GOOD fighter, but after Carwin destroys Frank mir in the first round with a huge KO punch, Lesner is suppose to come in the ring for a face off, and I bet Carwin will step right up in his face, and if cock-boy wants to shove I think Carwin could and SHOULD shove him to the ground, and growl at him. :) fuck Lesner he is a nothing steroid mental midget.
I wasn't posting on CP when Lesnar came along, but i was not one that thought he was a joke. He was a monster with a legit athletic background, and i was curious how he would pan out. After seeing and hearing him, however, i think he's a giant jerkface scrotie mcboogerballs. I don't like him, and i won't pull for him. Yes, he's a freak of nature; yes, he's a skilled athlete--he's a douche bag. I don't like him. And there is nothing wrong with me not liking Lesnar, Penn, Franklin, or anyone else.
If you have a problem, come on down to my gym and we can settle this like men. It's called Keyboard Warrior, on the corner of 12th and Never...
I like Mir and Carwin, and I'm not a religious man, but I pray that the winner beats Brock. The man is just unlikeable. He's big, he's good at what he does, but I don't have to like him for it. War anyone else.
Nicely put...and that would be why we don't like Lesnar.
"He is a godamn synthetically built freak of science, with tremendous athletic ability and masturbation punches. All you guys whining about how much you hate him and want him to die are fucking jokes. If you put half the amount of steroids into your body that he puts into his you might actually be able to get on top of your wife and not have to watch it online for free bitching about how much you hate the shitty load times on CagePotato."
Fixed it for you.
Good call, very good call!
He is a godamn freak of nature, with tremendous athletic ability and power. All you guys whining about how much you hate him and want him to die are fucking jokes. If you put half the amount of hard work into your lives that he puts into his you might actually be able to afford a ticket to a live event and not have to watch it online for free bitching about how much you hate people.
What is he supposed to say? Is he supposed to say:
"Well, I think the winner of Mir/Carwin is going to be the real champion. I am just a paper champion. And Frank Mir is a good man for wishing to cause my death in the cage. As for Carwin, he really does do everything better than me - it's hard to argue with that."
