(He’s not here to make friends, people.)
Following up on appearances by Georges St. Pierre and Frank Mir, SportsCenter also spoke with UFC heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar to get his thoughts on the Carwin-Mir interim title fight at UFC 111 this weekend. MMAFighting.com passes along some quotes from his appearance and, I know this is going to sound weird, but he was actually kind of a jerk about a few things.
On Saturday night’s fight:
"That was a business decision that the UFC had to make. Really, that belt is a make-believe belt to satisfy the company and to satisfy the people in the heavyweight division. I’m still the heavyweight champion."
On Mir’s pseudo-death threat:
"What’s said outside of the Octagon is all purely entertainment. I dislike Frank — there isn’t an opponent in the Octagon that I really truly like. That’s the battle of competition. I’m not a grudge-holder, but the first and foremost thing to me is, when I get in that Octagon I respect no one. And that’s the bottom line for me."
On Mir’s evaluation of Carwin as a better version of Lesnar:
"If Shane Carwin is a better version of Brock Lesnar, then the fight’s over in the first 30 seconds — I feel bad for Frank. Frank has a history of putting his foot in his mouth and let’s just see what happens Saturday night. I’m anxious to fight either one of those opponents. Both of them I’ve got some history with. … I can sit back and watch and let these guys fight over who wants to come after Brock Lesnar, the UFC heavyweight champion."
Oh, good. For a second I was worried that he might get all the way through his ESPN appearance without referring to himself in the third person. It really sucks when that happens. No matter how many times you remind yourself to talk about yourself as if you are a completely separate entity, somehow it slips your mind and only later when you’re soaking in the tub, enjoying a warm glass of whole milk and listening to the soothing sounds of Miles Davis do you realize that you completely forgot. Then you really feel like a jackass.

All I can say is Carwin is a FUCKING BEAST!!!! That dude is one badass mofo for sure. Gonna be unstoppable but needs to start training fulltime an take it to the next level.
