Brock Lesnar: “He’s in over his head. He doesn’t really understand the beast that he’s gonna enter the Octagon with…I’m gonna defeat Alistair Overeem. That’s the bottom line, and there’s nothing else to say…At the end of the day, he’s gonna get his ass beat…it’s gonna come down to will, and who wants this fight more, and Brock Lesnar wants this fight more than Alistair Overeem.”
Alistair Overeem: “I’m gonna tear this guy apart, piece by piece…I’m gonna beat up Brock Lesnar, and it’s gonna take me no more than two rounds to do that…Brock definitely doesn’t like to get hit. I’m gonna hit him, and I’m gonna hit him as hard as I can. And I’m pretty good at it…I would put my money on a knockout in the first round, but personally I can guarantee a knockout in the second…If you guys think Cain Velasquez hits hard, wait ’til you see what I’m gonna do to him.”
The UFC 141 video trailer also previews the lightweight feature between Nate Diaz and Donald Cerrone. It seems there’s already a bit of tension between the two (starting at the 6:53 mark)…
Cerrone: “Really the only personal interaction I’ve had with Nate [was] at the open workout prior to this fight. I walk over to be like, “hey man, what’s going on,” shake his hand…”
Diaz: “Yeah, he shouldn’t have done that. He’s in my bracket, we’re gonna fight each other.”
Cerrone: “…he slaps my hand away, and calls me a punkass and walks off.”
Diaz: “You go your way, I’ll go mine.”
Cerrone: “You wanna talk shit to me, you’re just gonna enrage me and piss me off. So feed my fuckin’ flame, that’s how I say it, let’s go…I’m just as game as you are. You don’t have to be from Stockton to be tough.”
UFC 141 goes down December 30th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

commentsActually no; I think Cain was able to get up off his back. I know the whole; big black guy with muscles is super impressive to some people, but last time I checked this dude hasn't fought anyone top tier (in MMA) except maybe Werdum and he had trouble doing any damage there. Oh wait my bad, he HAS fought some top tier guys. Shogun, Lil Nog, and The Iceman; and they kicked his ass- AT 205.
Dudes striking is good, but he is awkward and sucks in a scramble. A few cycles of horsemeat or whatever have not fixed that I can assure you. The likelihood that he is prepared to be in a cage with a 300 lbs+ freak of a national wrestling champion is extremely low and I have seen zero evidence that he is the kind of striker who can stop Lesnar before being taken down.
Though highly unlikely, if he happens to somehow pull this one out JDS will KO him in RD 1, and so would Carwin. Shit, I don't think he could make 5 RD's with Bones.
My prediction-Brock crushes him BRUTALLY and he eventually becomes a gatekeeper or goes back to fighting where people can't take him down.

Overeem on the other hand knocked Badr out, stone cold out, dropped.
.
To say JDS is a better striker than Overeem seems completely silly as Overeem is joining the UFC with the current K1 GP title. If JDS had a boxing title to his name I would understand people comparing their stand-up but his achievement is great boxing in MMA which is not as pure. Big fish in a little pond.
.
Both are great fighters and classy guys who I respect. It will be spectacular when Overeem fights him for the UFC title next but unlike others have said so far, I think JDS is the clear underdog.
As far as JDS' striking goes. Ubereem had better check off a couple items on his bucket list before he steps in with Dos Santos.
Dos Santos would murderball overeem with ease.
.
Well then Kid, if Then your stuck on the Rheem - from what I say in his bout(s) - when he says he can finish Brock in 2, he sure as hell better bring his big guns. I remember with Verdum, he looked awfully gassed and tired out at about 2.
.
This is quite the opposite of JDS...who is naturally as close to or equally as strong, but doesn't carry the bulked muscle. Also JDS is not as robotic...and moves more swiftly on his feet, from the waist up, and likely when on the ground.
.
Lesnar wants both that belt back (opposite of FO Grif) and he is all about the big money. Where Rheem is just stepping into the big bucks (for the UFC's payscale), Lesnar knows he has to stay in real contention or risk the bounce-down, and out.
.
Rheem on the other hand, can afford 2 loses (and even discounted), in his next 3-5 fights and still pick up the pieces to thunder ahead. Can he beat Lesnar?
.
Not if he looking like Kieth Herring or Shane Carwin did.
Alistair is a much bigger, and stronger guy than Herring, but the reality is that he will be taking on not just a top notch caliber wrestler, but someone who may actually be stronger than him, along with lightning speed takedowns Overeem will not likely be able to stuff.
For Alistair to win, he has to keep Lesnar standing, and catch him with a few knees, punches, all before he gets taken down. I'm not a fan of Lesnar's,but when it comes down to a fight between these two, Lesnars wrestling will be too overpowering.
Sure, Lesnar doesn't like being punched, but I wouldn't say his chin is weak. He has a grapefruit head(twice as big as Tito's) head, and was able to survive a first round ass whooping like a champ that Shane Carwin put on him the first round of their fight.
Alistair may not even possess the kind of brute force in his fisticuffs that Carwin has, which will only cause more problems for him.
Overall, in my opinion, this is a very bad matchup for Overeem stylistically, and as a first fight for him in the UFC.
.
Rogan said he was the best HW, implying inside the UFC. His record says completely the opposite. Rheem has had 14 MMA wins by KO, 19 from submission. I will stick to Rogan's bitch-pitch theory.
.
You two ( or one the same) can give him props - Im not saying Rheem can't punch - but if he beats Lesnar he step in next with JDS.
.
Honestly, do you think Rheem can punch with JDS, I don't. I remember when the same was said about Arlovski, Tim Sylvia, and Bas Rutten. If so, he didn't have the striking to finish Verdum
.
Matter of fact didn't Bas get measured striking considerably harder than any other striker on some fight science show?
as far as most decorated i am sure he is refering to his strikeforce and k-1 championship. i still see brock taking it with takedowns and overeem's tendency to gas.
i hope and pray that cerrone knees diaz's face into oblivian. diaz might have made a serious mistake pissing cerone off. he is tough when he is fighting but a beast when he is motivated.
I don't think there are any other K-1 HW GP champs fighting in the UFC. That's what makes Overeem the most decorated striker. Unless you mean decorated like decorations. Like tattoos and fake belts and stuff. Then Brock is more decorated.
.
As for Lesnar's, striking and submissions - even as a Lesnar fan, more pure bullshit and hype.
.
It's time Rogan stops his bitch-pitch.
.
I suppose if Brock loses, he will bounce down the ladder, but be once hell of a gate keeper for the newer - less experienced HW fighters.
.
@KeithHackneyWindmillPalmStrike - without a doubt, the tough kids from Stockton is finally in with a top drawer fighter. If Nate wins, I will eat crow.
.
.
WAR CERRONE! Can't wait for this one. And Dicky Chestner is going to get Over-reemed.
