The UFC paid out $1,373,000 in disclosed salaries and bonuses to the fighters at UFC 116, with Brock Lesnar taking home over a third of the total payroll with his $400,000 salary and $75,000 Submission of the Night bump. Chris Leben, Yoshihiro Akiyama, and Stephan Bonnar also cracked the six-figure mark after their Fight of the Night bonuses were factored in. The full payout list is below. Keep in mind that these numbers don’t include additional income from sponsorships, undisclosed "locker room" bonuses, or percentages of the pay-per-view gross that some of the UFC’s stars (i.e., Brock Lesnar) are entitled to.
Brock Lesnar: $475,000 (no win bonus; includes $75,000 Submission of the Night bonus)
def. Shane Carwin: $40,000
Chris Leben: $161,000 (includes $43,000 win bonus, $75,000 Fight of the Night bonus)
def. Yoshihiro Akiyama: $120,000 (includes $75,000 Fight of the Night bonus)
Chris Lytle: $52,000 (includes $26,000 win bonus)
def. Matt Brown: $10,000
Stephan Bonnar: $125,000 (includes $25,000 win bonus, $75,000 Fight of the Night bonus)
def. Krzysztof Soszynski: $85,000 (includes $75,000 Fight of the Night bonus)
George Sotiropoulos: $24,000 (includes $12,000 win bonus)
def. Kurt Pellegrino: $25,000
Brendan Schuab: $20,000 (includes $10,000 win bonus)

Ricardo Romero: $16,000 (includes $8,000 win bonus)
def. Seth Petruzelli: $10,000

def. Karlos Vemola: $8,000
Underpaid: Yeah, it’s pretty crazy that Shane Carwin‘s to-show check was literally one-tenth of Brock Lesnar’s. But I have more sympathy for Chris Lytle, who was robbed of a very well-deserved $75,000 submission bonus for his unique mounted triangle-armbar of Matt Brown. Instead of awarding an extra set of Fight of the Night bonuses to the ugly brawl that was Bonnar vs. K-Sos, why not give some extra love to Lights Out? Was the UFC just tired of giving him extra money? Also, it’s about time for the UFC to start paying George Sotiropoulos like the valuable contender that he is. Rant over.
Overpaid: Yoshihiro Akiyama. His performances in the UFC barely qualify him for middleweight gatekeeper status, and to be honest, it was Leben’s zombie-like toughness and dramatic finish that gave their bout Fight of the Night status. Akiyama was just a co-star, and he was gassed by round 2. The UFC is paying for a name that only has significance in Asia. I don’t care how sexy this guy is…

In the second round he had an active guard, but the "PSSHHHT!" sounds he was making was totally over the top! It "sounded" like he was molesting Goran from the bottom, but in reallity he was just worming around and lighty slapping Goran in the arms. PSHHHT...PSHHHT...PSHHHT! flap flap flap....
Split decision win by sound-fx.
It goes into the fake-it categori together with "ghost-fingers" in the eye, "ME-WON-arms in the air", "I wasn't out-fakery" and "The slow one-tap confusion-ploy".
(If the ref stops the fight you ofcourse: "didn't tap!!! Just moved my hand!!!" and if the ref leaves you in the sub for too long you can divert attention to the no-good ref and evil opponnent rather then your sucky sub-defence!)
